The Steelers and ravens were the only 2 teams to have top 10 offenses and defenses.
Steelers were 4th offense and 6th defense

That tells me that you have to catch alot of breaks to make playoffs in this league.

I mean these 2 teams had to wait till last weekend to clinch. One goes and one goes home

All that tells me is the ineptitude of one team and the integrity of another.

For that matter, all that tells me is that one team played like the aforementioned statement and the other team was a bunch of players on a team that did not play like one.

so if the browns kick a fg and win that game, it changes your opinion of the steelers?

It tells me that one team won a 1/2 more games than the other.

Agree. I guess a 1/2 a game amounts to a whole lot of integrity and ineptitude.

Which comes down to the three "I's."

    • Intensity
    • Intelligence
    • Integrity

One team showed that and the other did not this season. No doubt is the NFL difficult enough to win; sustain that level of success no less. However, maintaining the aforementioned traits are what sets good teams from great ones.

Now, that said, I give Tomlin one more season. Keith Butler, Joey Porter and Jerry Olsavsky on the other hand? Give them the boot. :lolol:

Sorry, but losing out to someone by a 1/2 game doesn’t warrant those labels.

It does if we constitute the classical quote:

"It does not matter how you start. It matters how you finish."

That takes the three "I's." One team finished strong. The other did not. One team played like one in the end. The other did not.

Realistically speaking, me and you Glenn could debate this all night. What we cannot debate is this; Pittsburgh is out of the playoffs for the 2018 Season. Baltimore is in the playoffs for the 2018 season.

I’d agree with you if we lost the division by several games, but it was a close margin and we just didn’t get it done.

Does not matter what they think. They are entitled to their opinion. This however is fact; Baltimore is in and Pittsburgh is out.

Wait... I thought it was the officials fault and the NFL conspiracy against the Steelers that we didn't make it in.

There certainly was some terrible calls that attributed to the loss against the Saints, but for the most part we just didn’t seem like we were prepared well enough in those losses and even some wins.

You have to analyze stats. Like what place did they finish against the 8 teams with the worst records? What place did the finish in when playing against the 8 teams with the best records? They can handle weak teams? (I mean other than Oakland ,,, choke, choke, choke) But they suck when they play the better teams?

that's what I mean by catch a lot of breaks. boswell not slipping. davis not knocking the **** out of haden when he had a pick in endzone. some horrible calls against the saints.
just 1 of them not happening. we are in. we got some breaks to. I understand but don't think this year it balanced out

Stats shmats. The reason why we're home and they're not is simple. Them vs AFC west....3-1 . Steelers vs AFC West 0-4 let that sink in. They also came a miracle Mahomes 4 th down conversion from beating the Chiefs as well, in Arrowhead I believe. They were the better team when it counted....

The defense is ranked 6th going by yards per game but that statistic isn't a real gauge. Look at the turnover differential, we turned the ball over a lot but the defense got very few. We also have the 3rd most blown 4th quarter leads, the defense relies on opponent mistakes like dropped passes to get stops, it is why we have a tough time with NE every year because they normally don't beat themselves.

The margin between winning and losing in the NFL is very slim. There's a reason why only one team has ever gone the entire season undefeated.

Bend but don't break, keep the play in front of you, wait for a mistake. Yeah I'm tired of it too.
