This is sad!

    I was told by someone who should know that former Steelers first-round pick, tackle Jamain Stephens, turned out for one of the first practices of camp and tried to get word to Kevin Colbert that he was in great shape and ready to resume his career. Stephens is 38.
    He joined them in 1996 (North Carolina A&T) and was a bust, but stuck around for three seasons. After he famously could not finish the run test on the first day of amp in 1999, Bill Cowher cut him that night. Somehow, he stuck around with the Bengals for the next four seasons. If indeed that was him on the sideline begging for another chance, it is sad.


    I guess we can expect Limas Sweed to make an appearance at Steelers training camp in 2025 begging for another opportunity. :(

    maybe they have room for the run out and get the tee guy on KO's. :shrug: :cool:

    Maybe it is sad, but I have to say I'm pulling for him. Maybe some how in some strange event he can get a genuine look by some team. I can't help but pull for someone who needs redemption, or whatever. Hey, nobody thought George Forman had it in him....

    these young guys are stronger , faster, and frankly better. at 38, this is not the time for a tryout. maybe an internship as a coach may be a better way for him to go. :cool:

    With all the injuries we have, maybe we should look for a conditioning coach. Jamain Stephens, you're hired! :good:

    Here's the difference: George Foreman was once great prior to his later comeback.

    The most polite thing I can say about Jamain Stephens is that he sucked.

    I don't recall anyone being that bad until Jonathan Scott arrived.

    Perahps it would make more since for Jamain to solicit organizations that don't remember how bad he was.

    Yep, he was definitely there back on the 26th. We were in attendance and walking around. I look over and see a line of people lined up waiting for his autograph and said who the hell is that? I walked over and realized it was Jamain Stephens, lol. My brother and I were joking that he was trying to make a comeback but had never heard anything of the sort that it was true.
