This is indeed good news! Glad he is coming back. He may have his shortcomings but Ben is our best option towards the stairway that leads to seven.

Now, if Keith Butler is gone by seasons end...

Good news. Now let's pair Ben up with a new HC for next season.

I would expect him to surpass 5,000 yards this season. It be his 1st time.

It will be his final year of his contract. Question is he extended or not?

Ben only needs 158 yards Sunday to get to 5,000 yards. Not many have done that.I think he has a big game against the Bengals and winds up around 5200 plus yards. Good job.

Great. Now we won’t have to waste a pick on his replacement

Of course he is. He isn't about to pass on getting $100M contract!

This isn't a surprise. I think Roethlisberger has hopes of going out like Bettis. I certainly don't think he's going to quit after missing the playoffs.

Tomlin is going to be back, too. Rooney isn't going to fire a coach after one ugly season, though he probably should. It's going to take worse to make a change.

Sadly, I agree. Maybe Rudolph can play, but I doubt he's going to be anything on Roethlisberger's level.

Sweet!! That’s great news, also buys us another year to groom Mason, who I think will be at least a good system QB. Seems to have some moxie about him.

Now that Ben is playing next year, all we have to do is fix the problems like playing down to the competition and losing to lowly teams. Could also use a few good DB`s.

    Oh. and a new punter.

Not many more opportunities left with Ben. I wish MT was up to the task, but just dont see it after what we've endured the past few years.

Mostly fixable by elimination of losing the turnover battle on most games. Additionally, when the defense makes a few stops in a row, the offense should score a TD on 2/3 possessions given.

Those two tasks alone would have the steelers sitting at a record of at least 10-4-1, right now. There's a strong possibility that it would be 11-3-1, and looking at both a bye and a home game, in the playoffs.
