It makes perfect sense, just like Gruden piggy-backed that great TB defense, what has he done since?

No substantive reply, says it all really...

No-one can tell me what MT brings to the table, because the simple fact is, he doesn't bring anything, he's what he always was a puffed up Def Backs coach who talks a good game but can't coach one to save his life. He hasn't got a fecking clue how to manage a game after 12 years experience, it's mind-boggling, you could stick a headset on a Random Calls Generating machine and get better results.

When Mike Tomlin got to Pittsburgh, yes the team had James Farrior, Hines Ward, Big Ben, and Troy Polamalu already. So should Mike Tomlin apologize for becoming a head coach of a team that already had talent? And the last time I checked, I think Mike Tomlin had something to do with drafting Mike Wallace, Antonio Brown, Le'Veon Bell, Maurkice Pouncey. A couple of Pro Bowlers to say the least. Lol

I hope Santa Claus brings plenty of Kleenex for all the whining and crying on this board. Maybe a fresh tampon or two as well.

He shouldn't apologize, he just walked into a ready made team with DLB et al on defense etc he also had a hand in all the bust draft picks...

Since he has shown he cannot get the best out of the talent we have, season after season, and he also does bring anything to the table as a HC other than spouting garbage cliches at presser's. All we hear is 'player's coach' and what does that make us? a dumb a ****, un-clutch, undisciplined rabble.

MT has on the surface a very good resume as a HC, one SB, another SB app - but like Mike Mcarthy look below the surface and he's criminally under-performed the talent at his disposal for the last 6-7 years.

And what has he done with all that talent? Not won superbowls, that's for sure. How about missing the playoffs completely 4 of the past 10 seasons and going 1 and done for 3 others. Those are piss poor results with the talent he has. Your argument highlights how crappy of a HC Tomlin is.

Not really. In the 2014 and 2015 playoffs, the Steelers did not have Le'Veon Bell. Also in the 2015 playoffs, Antonio Brown got hurt in the Wildcard game against the Bengals. So in the Divisional round against the Broncos that same year, the Steelers had no Le'Veon and Antonio. In 2016, the Steelers lost to the PATRIOTS in the AFC Championship game. And in December of 2017, arguably the Steelers BEST DEFENDER, Ryan Shazier got hurt. Possible of being paralyzed and not being able to walk again (great thing it was not life threatening). He misses the rest of that season and misses the whole of this season. And Le'Veon Bell's holdout this season was a huge problem. I believe Le'Veon is the best running back in the league. So not having him did damage. James Conner had a breakout season. But he got hurt. Pittsburgh is down to their 3rd option runningback in Jaylen Samuels. So just having talent is not enough. And yes, Mike Tomlin has his share of blame. But don't get crazy and put the majority of the blame on him.

If last nights game wasn't an indicator that the league fixes games to you then I really don't think you'll ever see it. These games aren't determined just by the athletes playing them, Vegas determines the winners of all primetime/ important games. It's all scripted and planned out. Why else would the league keep officiating crews that are awful and consistently blow calls??? I'm done with pro football, I'll still love my team but I know in my heart this league is all pretend.

These are just more excuses for failure. But even your guy says: next man up, the standard is the standard, we dont live in our fears, yakkity yak, blah blah blah, bullsh!t. Tomlin has been exposed for the sham he is. Time for him to go pursue his life's work elsewhere.

The chargers game was the worst case of refs influencing an outcome all year. Even worse than yesterday and that was bad. NFL stands for national fixed league. How about the cheating last year in the afc championship where the jags were screwed to get Brady in the super bowl. I have lost all faith in the nfl being a sport and not a staged play

I don't know if you watch college football but the system they employ allows for more plays to be called correctly while not being too intrusive to the flow of the game. I don't agree with their 'targeting' reviews though.

Say all you want about the refs, yes make bad calls. I myself make bad decisions and I’m dam sure that is the case with everyone on this forum. My point is they didn’t lose the game for us. We played a good game on Offense but we were a little shy on the Defense.

Really? There's a reason you can go to Vegas and bet Steelers/Bengals and there's a reason that you can't bet The Undertaker vs The Rock.

Lol. We all had a bad day. Are team lost and shouldn’t have even been in a situation where the refs could have an impact on the outcome A win over the Raiders and our Steelers (most likely) would have survived this.

Hence I said “far from the only reason”.... Nobody I can see is claiming the season hinged on bad calls.

They don't have all that talent , just because you have a HoF QB and great WR doesn't mean you will win Super Bowls duh.

I was 35,000 feet in the air during the game so wasn't able to see it. I did just see a replay of a PI call against Haden on Kamara. Does anyone know where the ref, who threw the flag, was located? Depending where he was, I can kind of understand how he blew that call. It was high, so Kamara bailed on it. At the same time, Haden had his hand on Kamara's back, removed his hand and then went for the ball. At full speed, I can kind of understand how the ref might have perceived it as a push, which causes Kamara to not go for the ball.

It's a really bad call of course, but at the same time, I understand the human part of things. Our minds can play tricks on us. Even if the refs did cost us that game, there's been many other games this year where we blew it, so it's hard for me to blame the refs. We've been self-destructing for almost 2 months now.

To add to that, assuming the back judge is the one that made the call, the two refs in the end zone should have had a better angle and talked him out of that flag. I understand how the back judge could see a push from his angle, but at least two refs would have had a much better view of it.

I know we weren't screaming so loud when we received beneficent officiating with a pretty bogus PI last week.....looks like thing even out.

I forgot about that one. The hit was fine if the defender hadn't lowered his head, but he did and got away with it.
