Even if it's nothing, he should shut it down for the preseason anyway. He doesn't need reps that badly at this point.

 

Dwyer is capable anyway. I don't think this hurts us much at all.

 

why not? this is a brand new offense. they are trying to refine it with the starters.

Alright, I'll rephrase. It's obviously not nothing. He's injured. I'll say, even if it's a very minor injury and he could probably play and not aggravate it, it's not worth it. We need him healthy and I'm sure he's got it down plenty.

No intent...I just do not believe a good half a season under Arians' system (pass happy) makes him proven. Let's just say I would not purchase a REDMAN jersey just yet. I hope he proves me wrong and has a breakout season.

 

He's a proven runner. Not worried about the system. If anything, it will be much better for him. It's not like we're talking about transitioning Mewelde Moore or Joseph Addai into a run-heavy offense.

I think Dwyer would be a capable starter, but he's nursing a shoulder injury... Not sure how serious it is; I read that he was back at practice yesterday, but was limited.

And for the person talking about Redman being "camp hype", apparently you dont know much about the team or Redman...I hate to say it...but to say that about him and needing reps...he's been around 3 years he is a solid backup and a capable starter. If it would be better to hold him out of these games then they should do it, they can't risk another serious injury.

I will be honest with you. I really like Dwyer and if Redman is out....he may never get that spot back. Dwyer, while most people don't know much about him, is a talented guy. Yes, he has weight issues, but go watch his runs in college. The kid can play.

 

People are sleeping on him, for sure. He only had two runs last week, but they were both great. The 9 yarder was even more impressive than the 33 yarder, from his standpoint. I don't see him taking Redman's spot this year because I don't see Redman missing any regular season time. But even when Dwyer was out of shape, he still took huge advantage of every opportunity. He was a preseason star even when fat and out of shape. Now he's cleaned up his act, and I hope that as long as Mendenhall is out, Dwyer gets a big share of the load. I think he's a bigger big play threat than Redman. I'm looking forward to seeing why I was so excited when we stole him in the 6th round 2 years ago.

 

...where do you think "RED ZONE" Redman came from?...games?...doubt it! It came from camp onlookers calling him the next Bettis and posting all their armchair coaching philosphies...
