I get a chance to go to one game a year, so this year my buddies are trying to get me to go to the dallas game. we would have to fly (which i have never done) and the other two options we can drive to. I have been to heinz several times but I love going up there. the game in cincy is the other opt. has anyone been to dallas or cincy to see a game? was wondering if I could get alittle help. 6 of us go and we are split 3 ways. 2 want dallas, 2 want cincy, and 2 want pitt. I know nothing about the other cities. i live 4 to 5 hrs from cincy and like i said would have to fly to dallas. can anyone help?

that is the main reason they want to go. Is that stadium that special? i know the media loves it but i figured that was because it was dallas. have you seen it in person?

if you drive and on a budget do cincy.. i live there 5 months a year (HATE IT ) and tickets can be had cheap.... hotels cheap.. only thing is flights into cincinnati are the highest priced in the country as delta has a hub there and holds greater cincinnati airport hostage on flights.. or you can fly into dayton ohio about half price or less sometime.. the greater cincy airport is in kentucky (thats how F ed up cincinnati is) so its 25 minutes to downtown. the dayton airport only an hour from downtown and save enough for tickets and a hotel? good luck

thats what i say. we always split the cost so we kinda need to agree. we have been to the burgh 5 yrs in a row. they want to go see some other stadiums. I could care less. I get pissed enough when we lose at home. I cant imagine being around abunch of bengal or cowboy fans if we lose. did you ever go to see a game when in cincy?

I have seen a game in CIncy....very similar to Heinz Field.

I have never seen a game in Dallas....but that scoreboard above the field looks to be worth the price of admission alone.

I saw my first HOME FIELD game last year....and if you had never been...I would say go to the MECCA.....but I think I would be swing vote to Dallas if it was an option.

    This is me exactly.

I say go to Dallas. If you miss it, it will be 8 years before you get a chance again.

We're just starting to price a Dallas trip. Tix look to be $250 each and flights from Pgh look to be about $450. Hotels another $80/pp/night so at least another $160. Looks like it going to be a $1,000 weekend before all is said and done, so it is going to be pretty pricey.

I've seen a couple of games in Cincy and have sat in the nose bleed and also in the season ticket section. Up in the nose bleed most of the fans were really obnoxious but down near the field they were all pretty nice. I'd try and get close if I were you. As far as hotels go I've always just drove up there and back in one day. It's only 3 and a half hrs from me.

If cost was no object, I'd go to Dallas, but I've been to Heinz tons of times, love it to death but I want to see the Cowgirls billion dollar joint, it looks nice.

Personally I would go to MECCA before Dallas but that is just because I want to be at Heinz. I would like to go to Dallas just to see a game for the stadium and the tour, as a casual fan. A friend of mine who is a Cowboys fan went and took the tour and said it was unreal how much detail was put into the stadium. So if you do go see if they still offer the tour, he said they got to see part of Jerry Jones' office, which overlooks the field.

But I would take Heinz any day of the week before seeing them play on the road.

I have been to many games at Cincinnati. There's always a huge Steelers crowd there and the Kitty Kat fans try to flex their muscles but they really know they are out of their league. Lots of jabber jawing going on and a few instances of alcohol induced stupidity but it really is a good place to see a game. The Stadium has absolutely no character to it though. Just a big cement structure with seats.

If I could see a game in Dallas I would probably go but I don't have that type of money. One thing for sure you will see alot of Mexican Steelers fans. They do love their Steelers south of the border!

You wont get into Dallas for under $200. If you fly, its a $1K weekend.

I have been to Cincy for multiple games, Had a wonderful time there especially
across the river in Northern KY I think they call that. Also going on at the time I was their
was Bavarian beer fest, Good time need I say more. But I would like
to go down to BIG D and see the New Stadium. Dallas would have alot more to offer
in entertainment options. Oh what the hell splurge and go to both see the greatest team on the planet.

Here is how I would rate the road-trip cities on the 2012 schedule:

1.) NY Giants - NYC? Fuhgeddaboutit! November 4th so it's still relatively cool (not cold) out. A rare opportunity to catch a game at their great new stadium. They're the world champs. A thousand things to do while you're there. Oh, and you can catch a Pens/Devils game the night before in Newark (in case you thought I haven't researched this). Go see Mike Tyson's Broadway play Friday night, dinner at Mickey Mantle's, Score's strip club after the play, take a tour of Yankee Stadium on Saturday, take in the NYC sites after the tour Pens/Devils saturday night, tailgate all day Sunday and then go see the game. I challenge anyone to put together a better weekend itinerary for any other city on our road schedule this year.

2.) Oakland - Any chance I can get to the Bay area, I'm all over it. I was at the game in 2006 when Ben threw four picks and we lost to a horrible Raiders team. I scalped a ticket for like eighty-bucks and sat in the Black Hole. It was a cool experience. But the Bay Area in September? Perfect. The only drawback is that the Bay area is really more of a couple's weekend than a bunch of dudes. Not a lot of 'bromance' opps in the Bay area.

3.) Titans - Nashville is a freakin' blast! For a roadtrip weekend with a group of guys, Nashville rocks! Live music 24/7. The bars are non-stop activity. BYOB strip bars within walking distance of the nightlife. Everything is close. The major drawback for this game: It's on a Thursday night.

4.) Dallas - Everybody should experience a Steelers/Cowboys game. Everybody should experience that grand stadium. I have toured it, been on the field, been in the locker room, seen it from every angle, and it's definitely the nicest facility in the league. Then again, most of the newer retractrable-roof domes are nice (Cards, Lions, Colts). My biggest drawback on Dallas (and why I balked when invited to the game there this year) is that it's on December 16th. The weather in Dallas that time of year generally blows. Literally. It's very windy. And it's a very cold, wet wind. Dark, gray, gloomy. It's pretty miserable. I'd take a snowfall in the Northeast over that wet, windy crap. And Arlington is a solid 1/2hr from Dallas. And there is NOTHING to do in Arlington,Tx in mid-December. College football season is over so no TCU, SMU, Baylor, UT games . . . Baseball season is over so you can't combine a Rangers game at the neighboring Ballpark at Arlington . . . The Six Flags park next door is closed for the season (if that's your thing). If this game were in September I'd place it 1 or 2 on this list, but mid-December . . . not fun.

5.) Baltimore - Our biggest rival. Their place. B-more can be a fun town. Decent bars, great restaurants, brutal fans. Nothing like getting yelled at walking around in Steelers gear. They HATE us.

6.) Denver - Season opener, Peyton, Sunday night, national tv, revenge for getting Tebowed . . . Still, I have ZERO desire to show my face in that stadium after last season's playoff debacle. None. Sunday night games are tough roadtrip games anyhow because then you're forced to travel on Monday rather than just catching a flight out after an afternoon game.

7.) Cincinnati - The stadium is right downtown merely a few blocks from all of the downtown hotels. And that's where the allure of going to a Bengals game stops. I'll be going this year. Looking forward to it. I'm going to the pre-season game at Buffalo next weekend (which I would rate at #5 on this list if pre-season were included). At least Buffalo has some nice local eats (wings) while Cincy, for whatever reason, boasts of their chili (which is FAR from good). There's nothing to do in Cincy.

8.) Cleveland - I actually enjoy my time in Cleveland (some surprisingly good restaurants) but could you pick a worse date to be in Cleveland than Christmas Eve eve? There are probably only three or four days out of the year that would be worse to plan a roadtrip than this date.

I live in Cincinnati and have been to a ton of games. I would recommend flying into Dayton if you're going to fly.

Like Hack mentioned, the stadium is very similar to Heinz field... I would guess the tickets will be much cheaper than Dallas.

Ditto on the Baltimore trip. They are the most clueless, obnoxious fans in football. Total jerks.

I will actually get to go to that game, but with completely different people. U have to keep yourself in check around family. it will be fun, but alot different. Is baltimore really that bad?

I would go to Heinz. I've been to Cincinnati and I hate it when we lose because the fans are unbearable. I would rather be at Heinz Field if we lose then Cincinnati.

I was in Cincinnati in 2006 when the Bengals lost and they were unbearably obnoxious after the defeat. The great thing about it was that it was their one year of being good and, IIRC, it was week 7 and they were 5-1 and riding high. Pgh was 3-2. Their fans thought it was their time and were pretty cocky, but Steelers laid a beat down on them. After the game I remember a drunk obnoxious girl hanging out of the passenger window of he mans truck, yelling obscenities at us and saying that they were still if 1st place....well duh, by a 1/2 game due to Pittsburghs early bye that year.

Hollywood Playboy this has to be you.
Only you could put together a resume of road trips this extensive.

And you are dead on about NYC. I'd like to go there, but my wife and I have a shot at going on a little vaca without the kids the same weekend. Im kind of hoping the plans fall through, because I that does look like a much better trip than Dallas.

My choice would be Denver. Opening night. Peyton's return. Great sports city. Pretty good fans.

NYC would be my second choice.
