The saints are down their starting LT and back up LT..... terron armstead and jermon bushrod are both out and the saints are shifting LG andrus peat to LT.... A more perfect opportunity to shine has never presented itself more clearly.... this isn't just make or break for the team..... if Dupree can't have a big game in such a Taylor made situation, then it's probably time to start looking at draft options again

This is what we'll get from Dupree.

See how there is nothing there? OK....

It was time to replace Dupree last year. Let me show you the Dupree energy level...

It pisses me off because he looks the part but there just isn't much pulse

Agreed. A multi sack performance would be nice in one of these two final games. Something to hold one's head up high for the season.

Bud Dupree has to have a good game. No excuses. If he does not, Pittsburgh is in serious trouble for the next offseason.

Is Bud going to play? Isn't he questionable?

Dupree has been showing some flashes of promise but they have been few and far between. He is definitely lacking the 1st round pick potential. He really needs to get it together and hopefully that starts this week or he won't be seeing a roster spot in the future on this team. Definitely not more than a 4th round talent so far and his opportunities have been more than plentiful while Silverback sat and watched which was disgraceful.

Porter should've been fired for the disrespect that he showed Silverback.

Good game/bad game, hasn't Bud Dupree shown what he is this season? If he had a 5 sack game vs NO would you say, "See, he's turned the corner now, problem solved!" Or would you wonder if the blind squirrel found the acorn?

I'd say Pitt has to assess whether Bud is part of future, regardless of what he does. Pitt isn't in serious trouble in the off season, they just have a decision to make. Bud's not in serious touble either, though he may need to take a pay cut to play elsewhere.

Of all the reasons to fire buffoon LB Coach Joey Porter, disrespecting Silverback must be reason #5,321

You got to take advantage where you can. I'd expect them to try to run it and throw the check down to their running backs early.

It wasn't just the disrespect but his judgement. I truly believe that he was jealous of silverback and Tomlin let porter weaken his defense with such a judgement call

Gee, a moron like Joey Porter having lack of judgement? Aren't there a few thousand examples of that on Joeys personal life?

Dupree has gone up against backup OL before and done nothing, I expect more of the same against the Saints .

Dupree have a multi sack game :roflmao:, I don't think he's done it since he's been on the Steelers.

I think Peat is their starting guard, just switching positions (which he's done before). It will probably be business as usual for him.

All the more reason I stated "would be nice."

Never implied that to be an absolute guarantee.

It is even more amazing that he was not selected to the Pro Bowl yet Jadeveon Clowney was.

Seriously I do not get it. What is it going to take for T.J. Watt to prove his point? A seven sack game or something beyond exceptional like that?!

He dresses. Even puts his helmet and cleats on.

I know I've seen him playing in a few games since he's been drafted. Not many.

I see him on the field all the time. He's not doing much so I'm not sure I'd call it playing.

    He's definitely in attendance though.

His brother hurts him. His brother is so good it's almost like he gets forgotten as the other brother.

Moreover he's opposite Watt the Houston version.

They always vote those guys like in pairs. We used to get the Greene and Lloyd show at the probowl.

JJ Watt had nothing to do with the snub I believe. It is like another person in the Pro Bowl thread alluded to; the system is broken. While I do not agree with that posters reason as to why James Conner should not be in, I do agree with him overall on the very basis of the Pro Bowl itself.

The NFL Pro Bowl is SUPPOSED to be based on the football season within that calander year; 2018 being this instance. It is not supposed to be anything else. Sadly, that just is not the case. Add to what both Thigpen82 and Busman alluded to in that thread the same and the Pro Bowl, for all intensive purposes, is essentially the Professional Sports World's glorified verison of "America's Got Talent."

Speaking of Bud Dupree, early on in the Pats game, the Steelers D stopped the runner short of the line to gain but I think a Steeler penalty negated the stop. Anyhow Bud wasn't involved in the play (obviously) but comes waltzing across the field all jacked up thinking that the D had held and Bud then goes and smacks one of the Refs right on the butt as the Ref is making his way to the ball. I had to rewind it 3 times to make sure I was seeing it right. I could see it happening if say Bud had knocked the Ref down and was helping him up and just gave him a courtesy butt pat as amends but it was while passing him on the field. Strange. Is there something else about Bud that maybe we don't know? Maybe we should get him Kramer's License Plate.

Yeah the verdict is in for Bud.

As been an overall average to decent OLB and average pass rusher. He certainly doesn't pose a fear for offenses. Need something on the other side of TJ Watt.

I've been a big supporter of Dupree, but it's time. We see what he is. He's not worth 9mil next year unless of course the Steelers are in a bind.

He's not terrible, but he's not great. I'd be looking to free agency next year for an established passr usher. Look to the draft for a corner.

I'd trade up and get Greedy Williams lol

I tend to agree. If we're saying he has to perform against a 3rd string Tackle, then that doesn't really mean much in terms of whether he should be a 9m starter.

We've seen what we're going to see. What we've seen is probably a bit better than most give credit for - he's not Jarvis Jones - but not worth the money he's due.

I think Dupree would be ideally suited to come in on rotation, provide an extra burst of speed rush at a tiring o-line. BUT we do need an upgrade ahead of him.

His play is questionable each contest. All the excuses have been exhausted. Sorry I would not exercise the 5th year option, not that I was ever on board with that. Let him go find another team to be mediocre on, or ghost injured. Chickillo could take his spot, as he has done off and on during games.
