In other news Kai Forbath of Jaguars was on the losing end of 16-13 outcome to the Redskins. While Chris Boswell made up for his 32 yard earlier miss, by hitting a 48 yarder to put the Steelers up by a touchdown and help his team take down the Patriots 17-10.

If Brady hits on the last drive, and converts the 2pter, and the Steelers fall 18-17, Boswell isn't being lauded for his gutsy, gritty make up 2nd FG, but instead is the focus of fan ire for choking on the FG that would have made it 20-10 and put the game out of reach.

I'm definitely not lauding the guy. One FG doesn't make up for almost an entire season of gaffes.

I just hope he is on the way to getting his head/confidence back in order.

Also 20-10 midway through the third quarter is hardly out of reach with Brady

I remember when the fan base wanted to keep a guy with a average leg who had trouble with anything over 40 yards just because he knew how to kick at Heinz Field and then they pissed and moaned when his kickoffs never got into the endzone. BUT yes let's jettison the guy who has been struggling in favor of a guy on his third team in three years and who the Jags thought what the heck our season is over anyway let's sign him. That was the guy going to.put this team over the top.

The Steelers kicked the FG to go up 17-10 with 2:30 left, so with no timeouts Brady would have needed 2 scores, a tough task even for him at his best. Missing that 1st FG made things dicier than necessary.

The Steelers were 11 yds away from blowing a game that they had largely dominated. Boswells miss contributed to that potential collapse.

    If?? If??

If frogs had wings they wouldn't bump their tails when they jumped!!!

I agree with Coach Tomlin.... Boswell has earned a chance to fix his issues and return to the probowler he was.

I don't know why but I'm not mad at Boz. I guess I believe if the offense and defense plays like they should then a kicker shouldn't matter. Yeah, kickers can steal games and Boz has in the past. I'm glad they are sticking by him. Everybody loved him last year. Don't switch up and be fake. Lets help him get thru this and find his old form.

I sure hope he turns it around and returns to form but if he misses a game winning kick in either of these last 2 games and the Steelers miss the playoffs, the scrutiny on him will be massive. Maybe more than he can overcome.

So someone explain (because I don't follow the Vikings) why Forbath was cut from MN after last season? Looking at his numbers, they are no worse than Boz's this season - in fact, a smidge better (not that 5 FG / 5 PAT misses is good).

I think you see where I'm going with this...
