I made mention of Fichtner giving a shout out to Rogers a couple weeks back. Now it seems his return may be closer than you think. Is it too late? Or do we unleash The Gunslinger and his 5 wide posse on the Pats? No Conner most likely it could be a 80/20 pass to run this week and honestly it may be our only chance. We may need to score 40+ to win. If by some miracle we can slay the dragon it could get interesting in the AFC.
Question is...Is Rogers healthy enough to be a factor or even if he is. Is it already too late?

I don't see Eli making any impact right away. His chances of playing this week have gone up with Switzers injury in practice however (extent unknown).

But I feel with so much time missed, it will take making the playoffs before you see anything meaningful from Eli.

Did you guys watch the bizarre way the Chargers were running their offense last night? It was like the ran a jet sweep on every down. Sometimes the wrong would cut up field behind the olive while the rb ran a wheel route. Sometimes he would just keep going from one side to the next with Rivers never looking his way to dump it off, a few times they did. It seemed an exhaustive way to try misdirection. I could see Rogers doing something like that.

Probably right but if they had started the process a couple weeks sooner he may have been able to help. Remember he and OLa were ready to resume practicing at the same time. They could of started having him practice sooner and if they needed to make a decision and he wasn't ready just release him at that point. Now I'm afraid like you said it's probably too late. Kinda like the decision to bring in the ex Giants coach.

Gilbert has most likely played his last game as a Steeler.

Eli is a good slot WR and has had another year to read and study the spots in the zones ...He could help the Team today IMO...

I have to say we have been missing him all year.

Great addition to the offense last night.

As long as Rogers moves the chains on 3rd downs... that's all that matters. This seems to be his niche in the offense.

Pretty much my perspective of him also. He's a dependable option to go to on 3rd down working the slot in short to middle mostly crossing routes.

    Which serves an important function.

He is a move the chain good slot type of receiver, going long like he did on one play is not his best play.

I really did not expect Eli to play as well as he did, for being out all season he didn't miss a beat.

Great effort, and another tool in the bag.

Agree and a lot of posters were poo pooing his return. He is a experienced receiver that enables us to go 4 or 5 wide with a guy who knows how to get open. 1 or 2 first downs can win you a game.

Eli lets us give the Pats some of their own medicine. Crossing routes with quickness working off semi picks.

Who ever is guarding him is in a chase as soon as he breaks, once again great game.

My only issue is for as much as it worked in the first half I don't know if they didn't under use him in the second.

His first catch alone made it a worthwhile contribution. He made a tough catch in traffic to convert a third down on the opening touchdown drive.

He did have at least one big mistake, allowing himself to be maneuvered into Brown's path on the second interception.

I just rewatched the game. He really did cause that interception. At the game I did not pick up on that it happened so fast.

I will fully admit I was wrong. I expected very little from him and was still hung up on his knocking himself out of a game last season. So that Ben immediately went to him and worked him into the flow surprised and shut me up. So go Eli.

Was he in the 5 yard chuck zone or was that another one of those subjective pass interference calls that the Pats got away with yesterday ?

The second INT could of just as easily been PI too. You have to give Gilmore a little credit he diagnosed the play and was physical to disrupt the pass. I hate to say it but he made a nice play.

Whenever you can go 5 wide without DHB, that’s a good thing
