Good for him. I know he'll still have some growing pains now and then. He's human. But this has got to be a huge boost to his confidence (if he even needed one).

Seriously...come on the Pre-season is here. We don't need misleading topics as it's hard enough when we're generating more volume now.

if you read the article last week about dave decastro having a tough time with the physical part of his game and then he had a good game and was named full time starter after going against the eagles, i figured it was just the good play of our d-line in practice that was the difference. is it to difficult for you guys to click a friggin button on your mouse and read a post? jeeeeezzzzzz. don't read it if it's that hard for you.

I think the biggest take away from this report is not that DeCastro is now the starting RG, but that Foster will be the starting RT. Does this not bother EVERYBODY? I know its temporary, but why even waste our time?

Agree with this. Foster was getting pushed all over the place on the inside against the eagles. I can't imagine he'll do any better on the outside facing a speed rusher next game. Ben better be on the lookout but at least it won't be on his blind side.

well, jolly isn't gonna cut it. LOL :lolol: foster can play RT. he's got the kid to his inside. essex is in trouble if beachum can build, which i think he can. beachum got the most reps of anyone against philly. 44 plays.

No, because its the result the starting LT being on the PUP list and the back up LT being injured.

It happens in week 12, yes its a concern. But as of now there is no need to give it much thought.

    Dear O-Line,
I know it's only pre-season, but can you all please stop getting injured. It really is quite annoying.
    Yours sincerely,
    Thigpen82
P.S. Please pass on my congratulations to David Decastro for winning the starting posiiton.

Well, this is lame but Ill begin with an excuse, the Eagles are very good at the pass rush particularly against us. It's the "particularly against us" that worries me and that I feel we need to figure out. Some of that is our style, culture, the way we play the game, and the way our QB reacts.

Sometimes the fans get it right. Sometimes. For years the msg boards have been filled w/ our O line woes and the team just couldn't seem to get it right. The right combo, players, scheme, and or leadership in place to be as close to perfect as possible. Enter DeCastro and Pouncey. Both Rookies, both starters replacing veterans. We still need other pieces.

    Steelers don't draft starters? Pouncey/DeCastro.

When DD fell to us was there any doubt we would take him? Was there really any doubt he would start almost immediately?

Whatever the topic is, just read the post, thats all. If you don't like it, don't read it!

Now as far as DeCastro being named the starter, its a good thing. Foster? He did nothing to impress me against the Eagles. What they need is to have Colon back so that we can see what he will do. Foster is just a temporary stop gap. Also, I don't care what Adams did against the Eagles, I'm still in his corner because that was his first nfl game, and because he is young and will learn fast. He needs to hurry up and get healthy so that he can be the starter at left tackle. We didn't see enough of him. He shouldn't lose his job because of an injury, Tomlin knows that. I'm telling you they need to put him right back out their so he can do what he needs to do and be the starter. He is the best choice. He can miss the Colts game, but he must play in the last two pre-season games. Everybody has started the Max Starks talk, well Max even stated that he is not ready and doesn't know when he will be ready. All he said was that he must be 100% when he gets out their. They can't put him back out their before he is ready. By that time, Adams will be the starter if he gets baci out their soon. His injury is not serious, and he is young. Starks is old and will only be used if someone gets a serious injury, he probably won't play in the pre-season. Adams is out their because he is better then Foster, Essex, and Starks, believe that.

When Adams is ready and hopefully before Starks even plays, they will put him out their. Why, because he will learn from the Eagles game. With good coaching from Coach Kugs and film study in the O-Line room, he will be ready. He's gonna get it right. He has good feet, long arms, and youth on his side. Starks will not last the whole season anyway because he is old and injury prone. He is another stop gap, so let the youth rock!
