Should be offered a position. As def coord or lbers coach. This was a totally different defense then we have seen all year.

 

Do you think that was the difference? I sure seems to be that way, and if so, I agree!

 

Obviously his fingerprints had to be on the Defensive plan someway, somehow !

Here's how I think it went down. After attending meetings and watching practice without saying much at all. Then Friday morning Jim Herrmann says " Hey Keith you got a minute " " First of all I like what you have been doing and I think you have a long career ahead of you as one of the most respected DC's in the league" " I don't want to tell you how to run your defense but you know when I was with the Giants we tended not to cover WR's with slow LB's, yah know just throwing it out there, maybe give it thought"

 

If they help us win, why not?

 

There wasn't any all that much difference. Pats helped us a lot with dropped passes, Brady off on some throws, and a wide wide open Hogan. Good win

 

We made some plays on defense to ice the win. Haven't seen this group do that much the last 4 games. Maybe Herrmann has a few def. coaches looking over their shoulder.

 

VW was covering a WR a number of times this past game. They got away with it because we got some consistent pressure with rushing 4-5.

 

if that were the case we need to bring in a specialist for a NO defensive killer lol

 

Yeah, bring in another lb coach & watch our lb coaches squirm. Who always gets S. Peyton's goat?

 

Anyone really think that it was Butlers doing? His seat is on fire...

 

I don't know about regular season, but Seahawks have sent the Saints home in the playoffs twice over the past 10 years.

 

Is he still around this week? Or was it just versus the Patriots? Maybe after the 3rd defensive play Tomlin turned to Keith Butler and said, do whatever Jim says.

 

There was a difference, they had some double coverage on Edelman and Gronk. The Patriots usually lights up the Steelers defense, Brady seemed to rush some throws.

 

This game was won by the pass rush. The last time we harassed Brady that much was the last time we beat him.

Bonus because virtually all our pressure came without rushing a sixth and seventh guy.

When we can create havoc rushing only 5 or less we have fun on defense.
