By the numbers. The lack of running the football.

    Clowns: 159 Tie
    KC: 33 Loss
    Tampa Bay: 78 Win
    Crows: 19 Loss
    Atlanta: 131 Win
    Bungles 112 Win
    Clowns 168 Win
    Crows 113 Win
    Carolina 138 Win
    Jacksonville 26 Lucky Win
    Denver 75 Loss
    LA Chargers 65 Loss
    Jokeland 40 Loss

Sorry folks the Gunslinger is so much better with a solid running game. Besides the Tampa game where their were only 78 rushes and a win look at 5 straight wins with over 100 yards. The Jaxs game was a fortunate win. Then the spiral downward.

What you’re ignoring is game situations. Kc we were down 21 in minutes. Ravens down early as well. There are also other contributing factors such as fumbles by JC. You can try and boil it down to something so simple, but it rarely is that simple.

During that 5 game streak, they were comfortably ahead late in most of those games.

They were running for more yards because they were ahead. They weren't ahead because they ran for more yds. Rushing yds didn't cause the lead, the lead caused the rushing yds

Yeah, we need to run more effectively, not necessarily run more. Oline needs to step it up.

As good as the offensive line is at pass blocking they are simply not very good at run blocking.

This. People think the line is responsible for JC success but that's not true. PPF gives them a 61.1 grade for run blocking compared to 87.3 for pass blocking.

They were pretty good when they were playing with that chip on their shoulders. They were opening huge holes for Conner. Now they are sleepwalking and trying to motivate themselves by playing poorly and losing.

Or go Empty and use the pass to set up the run ...I was hoping we would go empty against the Pats it forces their hand more ...Ben missed what could have been 4 TD'S from those empty sets ..I would like to see more of it ,we have a good stable of pass catchers we need to use them more ....

This thread is all about going back to Bell. They tried to sign the pot head, he didnt wanna sign. $16 million for 2 yrs was well more than enough. Even Bell struggled against certain teams. The running game didnt cause those losses. They ALWAYS play down to the competition. ALWAYS!!! There is no killer instinct and Tomlin doesnt play to win. As soon as we get ahead, he changes what is working and gets conservative. Give this same team to Belicheat and it would maybe have lost 1 game. This is all down to coaching.

That’s why it’s so important to stop the run in the NFL. When you can stop the run (or get a lead to force the opponents to pass all the time) you have an opportunity to force big plays like sacks and interceptions.

It’s actually a pretty simple formula. One dimensional offenses are easier to stop.

Well I guess that 142 yard effort by Samuels proves my point. And more amazing the Offensive Line can actually run block! Balance = Win. I hope they keep this mentality going forward.

Ben throwing less = better odds of winning, fact.
Ben's two blunders every game keeps the opposition in the game.

Samuels has earned the right to start against the saints whether conner is ready or not, besides he doesnt fumble the ball like conner does........

The one thing better than the girls getting their throats stomped was putting another notch in Marsha's lost column vs. the Steelers. We don't have many more chances thank God.
    My perfect ending for 2018:
    Beat Marsha in the playoffs,
Roll the Cowpies in the SB.
