Is it crazy that we played our best D of the year the week we brought in Ex Giants LB coach Jim Hermann? What does this say about our D Coordinator and LB coach ‍♂️ Don’t be so quick to give Butler credit.

Just seems like a lot to stretch from a couple of days input. But no, I’m not sure by any means.

I don’t think it is. Our D was basically shut down besides 2 long passes.

Maybe they should hire Jim Herman fulltime.

This defense has that potential. They dont play up to it. They had a ton of help today with a few drops and penalties. A couple of dudes came to play. Haden and hargrave. Solid effort.

That is the frustrating thing. They have the ability just not the want to.

    Players play and coaches coach

When you have to bring in someone from outside to show you what you are doing wrong maybe you shouldnt be here in the first place

I thought this thread was about our LB coach and D coordinator. Are you sure you're not talking about Boswell?

Ill take a 10 point effort against the pats any day of the week. Pats and a lot of drops, and they had lots of penalties, very unlike them. Normally one is the lowest pentalized teams in the league.

Watt cane to play too. NE was double teaming him the whole second half, so he must have had a major impact in their minds....

There were 3 drops, but mostly we played a good game. Still don’t like the few running plays that gashed is, but we held Brady to 10 and got a pick and a turnover on downs in the 4th quarter. That’s how you win games when it counts

I dunno..... they have quality control coaches right? Not suggesting butler should stay but.... he ain't going anywhere this season and having someone come in with an outside perspective (assuming they are taken seriously) could be just the thing. Many of us sense that Butler is still stuck in DL's model... I *think* today was a little different in terms of what the front did in passing... no?

I doubt the guy designed an entire scheme.

Another way of looking at it: when an offensive line actually gets called for the holding they normally do, defenses can look a lot better.

Sometimes defenses play well and sometimes they don't. The other guys get paid too. That's life in the NFL.

I will say they had a years worth of penalties called on them last night
Not taking anything away from the win, it was awesome , I’m just saying a lot of things went our way for once , including a few big drops by them

Watt showed up to play, I even say Davis & Edmunds looked good. Hell the defense did not give up their weekly 70yd game winning drive thankfully.

I was about to post the same thing. He was the one who told our genius coaches that you cant play the cheats the same way in the 2nd half as in the 1st.
