First time in a long time we can say the Steelers won the game in spite of the players. (Ben's interceptions again) and NE third snap of the game busted coverage mess.

The scheme was so good and crisp today. Usually it's the coaching the players have to overcome but not today. The coaching overcame the players.

    The secondary stepped up today.

    Pressure on Tom Brady.

Huge runs at the end getting a couple key first downs to get on the right side of field position.

Boswell coming through at the end to make that a touchdown only scenario.

    Congrats to the staff.

Another huge task awaits in Nola but we can build off this game as the Saints do many similar things

This can be a springboard for the rest of the year.

Urgency is now. It's absolutely positively business here on out. We'll see what we do with this opportunity.

We can beat NOLA but we aren’t holding them to 10 lol. Those missed opportunities we had are going to have to come through next week

One of those interceptions wasn't Bens fault. No team is going to be perfect for 60 minutes. They have a real problem with Boz, though. I doubt that goes away this season. Glad he came through with a big kick at the end.

Overall, It was a job well done by all involved.

Boz is a solvable problem for every other team in the league. You just cut the guy and bring in a league-average kicker. But the Steelers won’t do that because ... I don’t know.

With anything resembling a decent kicker this team is 10-4 right now.

They won't bring in another kicker because the Rooney's would be pissed they wasted money.

This is what drives me nuts though. For years fans, talking heads, constantly have said for the Steelers to win against NE, you have to change the defense against them. They finally did that, but for the coaching staff I would think it's embarrassing that fans and the media knew better than them.

He just signed a nice kicker contract on August. That might be a little reason why.

Of course you know the Steelers are a loyal bunch too. They give many chances...then some more...then after that a few more. You literally have to beat the schitt out of a Sheetz hand dryer in Latrobe then kick horrible to get a dismissal.

    Just sayin

Agree, just want to add that it appeared that we also ran some different run plays, mostly counters that worked. Something we haven't seen much this year. :clapping:

I agree they can’t afford to get Brees and that offense off the field and then not score points as a result like they did yesterday. They got away with it yesterday they won’t get away with it against the Saints.

    Agreed.
It was the coaching staff's finest hour.

When we gameplan like this Tomlin doesn't have to worry about winning a once in the decade challenge or manage the clock.

    Maybe...just maybe...

The Steelers coaches finally got to see just how much hard work needs put in each and every week.

I have no doubt the staff logged more hours this week preparing for this game than maybe they ever have.

Maybe...just maybe... they also got a glimpse of what Belichick goes through each and every week no matter the opponent.

When you have key components as mainstays you can shuffle different role players in and out when you put the extra work in and gameplan like such.

As far as the coaching I still would liked to see Ben throwing on second down and 6 on the last drive. The run went no where and the Pats used a time out so almost no time off the clock. Another first down puts that game away.
