Trying to say this team never makes it easy. Take away the panthers and we got nail biter wins/losses.

It’s very stressful for something so meaningless lol.

And we will see if Tomlin rises to the occasion, he will get both the Cheatriots and the Saints best, both fighting for playoff seeding.

I voted the second choice, go 2-1, win a playoff game. Just because this team could have won the last three doesn't mean they should have. Offensively, they are a quality squad. The talent and coaching defensively are both hot messes. Was the defense better with Shazier? Yes. To what degree is debatable. Let's say his presence gives the team a win over the Raiders, or turns the tie with Cleveland into a win. It would definitely help get into the tournament but, this defense is simply not good enough to go all the way.

Honestly, if we beat NE and/or NO, it’d just piss me off that much more. Tomlin’s teams are erratic, and these winning streaks and dragon-slayings only highlight the potential being squandered.

The real victory in beating NE would probably be seeing how many ways people can claim it wasn’t a proper win.

I’ve come to live with the inconsistency these days. It’s still frustrating as hell, mind.

I did choose this and the only reason I did was cause no other option had winning the super bowl. I am so done with Tomlin, we have so much talent on this team and yes both sides of the ball. Yeah there is a heck of a lot more on the offense but still on defense we have good players. Watt, Tuitt, Heyward, Digger, Haden are 5 very solid players. Add in VW and Hilton who have shown flashes, especially Hilton and guys who could be serviceable in Dupree and Bostic and we have talent. jmo

Where I am going with this is this team is loaded, every year someone if not many pick us as a SB team....every year. We should not be where we are at with this kind of talent, don't bring up the injuries we had good coaching can make up for that.

I agree with @Steel_Elvis@Steel_Elvis post about Butler needing to be gone, what I don't agree with is why he should be gone. Sorry SE I don't agree that Butler is can't match up with the OC's. No disrespect but I have said from the beginning that Tomlin's hands in this defense is hurting us. What I mean by that is Tomlin is a 4-3 guy wanting to run this hybrid scheme don't mix with our 3-4 guys. Let's face it MT was hired and was told DL is your DC, these guys ways did not work leading to DL leaving. Well Butler was kept around for many years passing up DC jobs with many other teams with the promise that he would be the next DC here. DL leaves and what are the Rooney's suppose to do, if they didn't give KB the job they would look bad. So insert KB another 3-4 guy who learned from DL and here we go again a clash.

So I want KB gone so if Tomlin is kept.....IF he can bring his guy in and we can run the scheme he wants to and see if that makes a difference. I am so tired of seeing this team play zone and give up the under stuff or the safety not being there for over the top help. This scheme has to go, prime example 2 years ago we led the league in sacks from week 10 on. We play the Pats and what do we do, play zone rush 2-3 guys and let Brady pick us apart.....why change from what was working? Last year vs the Jagoffs we shut the run down but play our corners back letting Bortles........EFFIN BORTLES pick us apart with the 5 yard stuff. I am not expert this is what I am seeing and I find it hard to believe this is all on Butler when it came out that mid season on last year Tomlin took part in the defense game planning.

So with all that mumbo jumbo said and getting off track a tad without a SB win I would like to see Tomlin gone and start fresh not over with the 2 years we have left with this talent. JMO

13-3 was smoke and mirrors , they lucked into those wins, didn't play quality QBs just backups.

A win is a win but at the same time everything you said is true as well. Boswell had 4 walk off FGs last year. I don't know off hand how many tying or go ahead or even 3,4,5 FG games he had. One of the biggest differences this year in our record is tied in to his poor performance. IMO your teams success shouldn't be directly related to your kicker. That means you are playing a lot of close games even against bad teams and relying on your kicker to win them. Last year he bailed them out this year he clearly hasn't.

Essentially last years record was based on smoke and mirrors. They did luck into wins and they definitely didn't face many quality QBs. Last year more often than not they got away with playing bad because of Boswell. This year they haven't been so fortunate.

Tomlin aint going anywhere. They could get blown out 52-0 in all 3 of the final games and miss the playoffs altogether and he will still be the coach in 2019. I don't agree with it but that is the reality. His seat is not hot and is very cushy. His overall record speaks volumes around the league comparatively.

You may be right he ain't going anywhere but I totally disagree that his seat isn't hot. As for his record yeah it is good in the regular season but not in the playoffs. He is 8-7 overall with 2 SB appearances 1 win. Since his last SB a loss he is 5-5 so while his .657 regular season record is nice his playoffs aren't.

So, the poll shows 7 people wanting Tomlin to be gone even if we win out and hoist the Lombardi. Really? Isn’t winning the Super Bowl the ultimate goal? I get pissed at all of his mistakes and shortcomings just like the Tomlin haters out there, but damn... if we win the Super Bowl at the end of it all, I’ll sign up for that result any year and live with all of the drama and frustration of the journey that got us there. No way do I let him go IF we win it all.

Yeah thats not really well thought out is it? lol . I suppose there are other reasons why people dont like Tomlin which has nothing to do with his ability or inability to coach this team.

This poll begins with the assumption that we want Tomlin gone. I don't. I think he's a great coach.

He’s about to go from having a chance of first seed to completely missing it all together.

If we miss the playoffs I want him fired. Won’t happen.

    Butler and smith fired regardless

For me, I just don't see Tomlin returning to another SB under any circumstances, good regular season or not. And isn't that the point of this whole thing?

It's like a question I posed. If I could predict the future and say if you hired mystery coach the next 10 years you would have 2 SB victories but only 3 playoff years. If you kept Tomlin for the next 10 years you would have 9 playoff years but no SB victories. Which is better?

I agree I don't care if Daffy Duck was the coach I just want to win. That was why I voted the way I did, win the SB we keep Tomlin pretty simple for me........

Agreed. A Super Bowl buys him at least 5 more years with me, IMO.
