Hilton hasn't been playing well. I doubt Sutton will be any better, but I can understand benching Hilton or limiting his role based on his recent play.

My hope is the Steelers have seen some improvement in practice from Burns and Sutton, but my concern is the coaches are shaking things up for the sake of doing something.

Not the changes we were all expecting. Maybe Tomlin isn’t as bad as we think he is. Maybe he wants to get fired.

That's what worries me. Sutton struggled with Uzomah simply due to the former's size advantage. Gronkowski has even more of a size advantage and a hell of a lot more skill.

your right he did.. I am going to give him a pass on that one simply because he slipped. Seemed like field conditions were a problem. The team itself has some blame for not having the correct cleets for the conditions. Looked fine on TV. Not sure what they were slipping on lol

Must be scheme and the way butler and company is using him because the first few games he was flying around and making hits in the backfield and blocking passes.

It's kind of a close your eyes and hope for the best scenario. We don't have a player on this roster that can cover Gronk. Bostic and Williams can't do it. If between Sutton, Fort, and Davis we can at least not give up anything big to Gronk that will go a long ways in terms of winning.

Who covered Gronkowski when Steelers beat them in 2011? Gronk went 7 for 94 and no TDs on that day. Steelers will have to limit Gronkowski to under 100 yards if they have any hope of making this game close and pull out a victory in the final minutes.

If Gronk goes for over a 100... there's not much hope. I don't see the Steelers offense matching the Patriots point for point on Sunday.

Agreed, though I'm not sure Sutton will be on him. If the Patriots go with three wide receivers and Gronk, which they will almost definitely do most of the time Sunday, the slot guy could end up on Edelman.

Even if they could cover gronk, what about edelman in the slot, josh gordon deep, and grogan down the middle, and sony michel running the ball, this is going to be a huge test for this musical chair defense, butler will have on the field, and i'm sure the cheats will have their hats and Tshirts that says AFC east champions for their post game interviews just to embarrass us even more......

Maybe there will be fireworks for the Patriots, too... like there was back in '04 when they beat the Steelers in the AFCCG.

It's going to be all about pressure, and I doubt that will be enough.

I'm guessing we will see Haden on Gordon, the slot corner on Edelman and a mix players double-teaming Gronkowski. Sometimes it will be a cornerback. Often it will be a combination of Davis, Edmunds, Watt or Burnett.

I think it was Timmons. The Pats had another TE threat back then, Hernandez.

My guess is Timmons, too. He had enough speed to hang with Gronk.

The main thing I remember about that game was the D getting a lot of pressure on Brady. That and Ben with one of his gift wrapped interceptions to a linebacker standing alone in the middle of the field.

As I already posted, I don't think either guy will be the primary option on Gronkowski. I'm guessing the slot corner will draw Edelman while some combination of Burns/Sensabaugh/Edmunds/Burnett and Watt will end up on Gronkowski.

I’m not disagreeing. I was merely putting numbers to the potential matchups.

Those are ugly matchups, but really, there are very few good matchups with Gronkowski.

True, if Gronk goes for 99 yards and 5 tds we win. If he goes for 101 yards and 0 td's we likely lose.

lol just pulling your chain haha

I don't know what the matchups will be but I guarantee they will find the mismatch and abuse the crap out of it. RBs out of the backfiel could be a huge problem as well. I know one thing for sure NE is coming for blood.

I was just thinking... all the top teams have beaten a top team lol. NE has beaten both bears and KC. Steelers have beaten 0 elite teams.
