I was just thinking....if the Browns had a decent field goal kicker, they'd have won those three games at the start of the year, and they'd be in first place in the AFC North at 8-5. That's a scary thought, but it's true.

That's why we need to replace Boswell.......a kicker can win or lose you a lot of games.

I keep stating how important special teams are lol. A team with good/great special teams and defense is probably super bowl bound.

yeah i know, shut up lol

Special Teams and Defense have stunk during these past 3 games... but the offense has been disappointing too, IMHO. Hell... the entire team blows chunks.

Pretty sure Boz missed a potential game winning FG (42 yards??) in that 1st game against the Browns, so that blade cuts both ways.

Why do you see this as such a bad thing? Suisham was 88% in his Steeler career. He only had one down year, actually, otherwise he was above 90%, 4 out of 5 seasons in Pittsburgh.

You’re probably right, but maybe SS can help him out. Can’t hurt.

He’s suffering from the Rick Ankiel disease who was a pitcher with the St.Louis Cardinals.Good pitcher who was hitting the backstop instead of the catcher’s glove and never pitched again. It’s all mental and I hope Boz finds his way out of it!

Suisham was a wreck before he came to Pittsburgh for his second chance. I think he’s the perfect guy to help Boz out.

I golfed alot...Why I bring this up is, Usually when I wasn't hitting the ball well, I didn't trust my swing...Kind of guiding the club NOT trying to make a mistake...

Then I would say to myself " You've done this a thousand times, trust it...Get your setup, and let it rip...And 9/10 ( God I would take that pct. for Boz right now) I would play much better...

I have never been a kicker, But I see similarities between the 2...It seems imo, That Boz is trying to guide to ball, Even his makes don't look good, like the ball has no explosion ( trying to guide it ) ...

Get your technique, plant your foot, and " rip " it...Just my observation...Guys who have kicked can tell me if my eye test holds any water

It's funny with kickers - on the one hand, they should be able to play at ages other positions can't. Morten Anderson, Gary Anderson, etc. had ridiculously long careers. But on the other hand it seems some just burn out. Jeff Reed, for example.

It's difficult to know with Boz. Tomlin has suggested it's mental, which it may be; it may be that the big contract has led to worse practice techniques; or it may be that either he or someone else has tried to tweak a part of his technique to improve it, and the result is what we're seeing.

In any case, getting Suisham in to have a word can't be a bad thing.

I agree. Look at the Ravens. No top tier qb, but solid D and solid special teams. They look similar to the way the Steelers used to look before Ben and a while during Ben's early career. It's a winning formula. Several teams are starting to notice that solid D, solid special teams and running down hill for six yards on first down can be a great formula for success.

Seems to me to be the biggest difference between last year & this year for Boswell.
