holy $***....I just read that they're predicting the cap to be around $190 next season. Currently that would give the Steelers $28.6 million.

Time to make some serious moves in March! Please no more Mike Mitchells or Morgan Burnetts!

Yes, but the cap is going up for everyone, not just the Steelers.
They're listed as #24 of teams in the NFL with cap space. Someone (or a bunch of someones) are going to get paid some massive amounts

I’m sure they’ll spread it out evenly amongst this talented well deserved defense

I would go hard after the honey badger and landon collins. CJ mosley is unlikely but I'd definitely try my hand there as well. Its players out there. Shazier will be off the books. Cut burns. Cut burnett. Let Dupree go. I would possibly think about cutting Heyward as well. The defense needs an overhaul.

Unless he takes a paycut but he is so overrated imo. He had one good yr last yr against mostly bad teams and good teams with their starting QBs hurt like the colts and packers. He is no where to be found when you need him most and he talks more than anyone as if he is aaron donald.

They aren't cutting Heyward. That simply makes no sense. He's still an above-average defensive lineman even if the sack total is down this year. That he speaks up is not a negative.

    Umm... no.

Allen Bailey is good but Cameron Heyward is a Pro Bowl level defensive lineman. Cannot replace that so easily.

He is Not a consistent pro bowl level de. He had one good yr last yr when we had a very weak schedule playing against a horrible AFC north and majority of our opponents playing with backups QBs from other teams we faced like the colts, texans, and packers. He's not even a top 10 de 3-4 or 4-3 in the nfl. He is absent when you need him most. Aaron Donald, JJ watt, mack, demarcus Lawrence, joey bosa, Brandon Graham, etc.. are the guys you call pro bowl level. Not him off one good year even trent dilfer and Brad Johnson made pro bowls. Doesn't make him elite.

And bailey is tough. He just plays next to 3 other very good guys in chris jones, Dee ford, and Houston so he gets overshadowed.

The purge of players should be significant,
but what about the dead cap space money for these guys that should be purged?
We need players and this acquisition of players will cost lots of money. Lets say we can pry
Patrick Peterson type caliber people or Honey Badger away from their respective teams?
