I disagree you gotta win this game against the Patriots this week and still have a chance to win your division and host a playoff game. I’m not willing nor do I have confidence in Boswell kicking in this game against the Patriots in which you know it’s going to be close and where every single FG and extra point are absolutely going to matter. There is too much on the line and at stake in this game with the Patriots this Sunday for me want to risk that.

If he misses any at home this week they better hire a protective detail for him.....

I don't think it's going to be close at all. We'll cover Gronk with Foote and he'll get three TDs and 150 yards receiving.

If we are so bad as a team that we need a kicker to win our games for us, then we certainly aren't a playoff team.......

If they haven't they need to bring in a couple of kickers this week to try them out.
If nothing else it should get Boswell to realize how close he might be to being replaced,

Foote?? Holy crap, we really are in trouble if they're bringing back Larry Foote. He wasn't even good in coverage before he retired! :lolol: Plus I think he's coaching on the Cardinals.

How do we know that it isn't Foote under that #51 visor. The guy sure plays like Foote.

Say what you will about Foote, but he has 2 more rings than anybody currently playing on the Steelers defense... except Burnett. I think he got one with the Packers in '10.

You know there are issues when we are talking about Larry Foote in a kickers thread.

I think they're just lighting a fire under Boz's ass with this move. Too much of a cap hit to release him before June of next year.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much for a change of personnel at kicker

If they cut Boswell, their cap hit in dead money is 4.8 million for next year according to Steelers Depot.

I think you're right. It doesn't make sense to release him at this point. It's not like this team is just a kicker away from making a title run. It made sense earlier in the season, but not now.

Reviews say it's pretty good but slightly bitter and very expensive.

Are they really trying these reverse psychology head games? Really? First Ben tries the tough love speech on his radio show to motivate Washington when that kid has probably worked harder both at football and on his family farm then Ben has in the last 10 years. Now we have Tomlin trying the we are going to have open tryouts as if he'd ever pull the trigger. His handling of AB and the Bell situation makes my disciplining of my kids look like the Spanish Inquisition. I give him full credit for having the balls to call that fake field goal but he isn't going to cut the best kicker they have had in years when they can still limp into the playoffs and make some noise.
