I think their story about the x ray machine makes their story look even worse. They said nothing about this after the game which leads me to believe this is a complete and total lie. Tomlin said it was an “out-dated” piece of equipment when referring to the x ray machine. Tomlin’s explanation on his timeout usage too at the end about him saying the Raiders were gonna run the ball had they used the one timeout was complete and total crap. They were going to throw the ball in the end zone after 1st down 3 times period so I don’t want to hear any crap like that. Tomlin needs to go and if this team misses the playoffs which is very possible at this point after being 7-2-1 you gotta consider making a change or doing something if your Art Rooney.

They just saw Dobbs coming in and then after a few series Ben was back in

But Ben on his show said he went over to the line and told them to get ready he’lk be in after a series or two.

in 1966 I broke two ribs playing football. The X-ray machine clearly showed those breaks. Guess it was ahead of it's time

 

Since football is much more important then Baseball in Pittsburgh he could be but the Pirate organization is a close second.

 

I feel like Tomlin has one of those Word of the Day Calendars..... when he finds a new word..... he kills it.... obviously.

Yeah, I am not surprised. The outdated x-ray machine excuse was pretty weak IMO.

You are not missing anything. The whole thing reeks of "spin". It doesn't make sense because its bullshite.

Having worked on medical x-ray equipment for over 30 years I find the x-ray delay interesting. Everyone now a days has gone digital so what we are really talking about is the digital imaging method they use. Doesn't really matter how old the x-ray machine itself is, an x-ray only last fractions of a second, in some cases milli seconds. They most likely had an issue with an older digital device referred to as CR for computed radiography. You have to insert the exposed cassette into a reader and wait for it to process the image which will then be displayed on a computer monitor. Typically a radiologist can be sent the image through the network and view it on a high resolution monitor which cost thousands of dollars. They may have been trying to look for a hairline crack on the x-ray room monitor which is not a high resolution monitor or there could have been a delay getting the image in front of a radiologist with a high resolution monitor. The latest technology is called DR for Direct Radiography and gives you an image a few seconds after the x-ray is taken but it is once again displayed on a computer monitor that typically is not high resolution. Also, if Ben moved during the x-ray and did not hold his breath as he would have been asked to, it would make the image blurry. It's also been my experience that ribs are difficult to image and finding hairline cracks even more difficult.
