Draft position is more needed, even if they make the playoffs, they won't do much because the defense can't stop anybody . Right now I would take a top 15 draft pick, take the best LB or CB on the board.

I would try to make some trades. Get rid of a lot of these guys on defense to get more draft picks.

I understand where you’re coming from, but I can never bring myself to root for a loss. I just can’t. I want to make the playoffs, even though I know deep down that this is a team that just can’t compete with pretty much any other AFC playoff team right now.

I have to keep my hopes up that we’ll get in and get hot, unlikely though that may be.

I'd take making the playoffs over playing for draft position any year. There's just too many variables to play for the future. You have to go for it when you have the chance.

Yeah but like the last draft we missed out on a good player at a needed position ILB, we were too low in the draft to get Vander Esch.

This defense is garbage, they have no chance against anybody. They couldn't stop a struggling Raiders offense at the end.

Nice thinking but what GM in their right mind would want any of these guys? The only value person on the entire defense is Watt. Everyone else is just average at best. So, I'm thinking there is no real value there.

Now, I see dropping a couple of guys and clear some room to sign a couple of FA's and make the upcoming draft worthwhile with some defensive picks.

I agree. I can't root for losses. I wonder what the front office plans on doing with all that extra salary cap money they will have next season. It would be nice to see them go out and get some guys to shore up the defense.

I get what you’re saying but we have been saying this same thing for far too long
It’s sad really because a lot of these crazy talented players like AB may never see a ring because of this incompetent coach

Like I said in another thread , I feel bad for a lot of these guys who would have probably have better chances on any of the other top 15 teams in the league right now

I know it is not considered proper form, but I'd play the last games like preseason. Get the younger players some playing time, and get a better draft pick. This team has no shot in the playoffs whether it is at home or on the road. None. Zero. We need more good players more than we need another one and done playoff appearance.

I agree. I'd rather they make the playoffs, then pack up early. Having said that, if they do make it, it will strictly be on the strength of our talented offense. Then likely, one and done.

That’s only part of our player acquisition issue. We make questionable decisions with almost every defensive draft pick. Plenty of good defensive players have been taken after our 1st round picks in recent years.

Nailed it. As long as we can get in, we have a shot, no matter how unlikely it is. I'll always take a 1% chance over a 0% chance

I wish this were true, but it seems to me that our FO hasn’t figured out that free agency must be a bigger part of building a team under the new CBA.

At this point, all I can think about is beating the Patriots. Playoffs or not, we need to be very physical with them.

I think we are seeing the playoffs disappear in front of our eyes as every pathetic loss goes by week after week. That being said and we back into the playoffs by some grace of God...we are one and done.

The last 3 losses this defense hasn't been able to get a stop when needed, they're already at 0% chance.

Call me a bandwagon fan or whatever, but I watch NFL football for entertainment. This sh!t show in Pittsburgh is no longer entertaining. On to college bowl season and NCAA hoops. FMTI

Exactly why would anyone want these losers.. U might be able to get a riced krispies treat for bud Dupree.. Maybe even one with Eminem's in them.. For anybody in the secondary besides Haden I think the GMs will gladly just hold on to there riced krispies tho

Agree with Elvis. I will not concede or forsake my Steelers. Right now, the short term is bleak but I will always cheer them on, come what may.

That being said steelersule6, do not let those statements fool you. The Steelers I will not concede. Keith Butler?

They might have over 30 million to use in free agency.

Agree with you a 100%. They might to lucky to get out of wild card weekend before letting us down. Could easliy be picking 15-20 where there surely be an impact player available.

They definitely are not a first place team but that’s where they sit in the AFC north. How can you say throw in the towel for a better draft choice? If they do sneak in the playoffs their chances of doing anything is very low but at least there’s a shot.No way they throw in the towel and moving up in draft is a guarantee of nothing based on most of their defensive picks anyway!
