"New" NFL = Entertainment

The way the NFL has changed things over the past 10+ years...the NFL is nothing more than entertainment. As Fan's we get upset, pissed, vulgar when our team loses (sometimes even after a win) and in the 70's - 90's this was the way of life. Players hated other players from rival teams...not anymore.

Players played for the love of the game not a huge "look at me" paycheck or dance or other celebration.

Todays NFL is a business and not a sport. The players and coaches act as a loss in no big thing..."We will go back into the lab and try to fix it" as they are hugging other players and exchanging jerseys.

But can you blame them? We all have bad days at work and with these players mindsets they seem to act the same way. It's a job to them nothing more!!

A loss like last night would have ruined my week and maybe month several years ago...As I approach 50 yrs old (at least 44 of them as a Steelers fan...going back as far as I can remember)

IT IS ONLY ENTERTAINMENT!!

Entertainment that I still invest many, many hours a week with, invest $$ with merchandise and games, but it is like going to popular site seeing venue and I buy a T-Shirt...it's entertainment.

NBA was many, many years ago with the Celtic's Vs Lakers Vs Piston's Vs Spurs a great sport...but B-Ball made it switch to entertainment 20+ years ago and the NFL is now there.

I will always root for my Steelers and still comment on bad calls, bad plays, good calls and good plays...but to let it ruin my life, my week, or my month...it will not happen anymore. It might ruin a few hours in the day but its just Entertainment that I have absolutely no control over!!

 

Agree. This is why I've curbed my watching significantly, as I don't need to be entertained. I just can't seem to stay away from those damn Steelers Primetime games!!

 

2 victories stolen in a row, worse than just plain losing.

 

NFL is being used as a political tool in the division of America.
Can't say no more, don't want to get boo'd off the forum.
