Adams and DeCastro will start first pre-season game. DeCastro will start due to Colon's injury. Colon will be out and Foster moves over to the left side. Adams seems to have earned his spot, which lets face it, with the tackles on this team not named Gilbert, it would have been a disappointment if he DIDN'T get the start.

Here's another link confirming. It's good to hear Adams is doing good, but what Hensley has to say about DeCastro doesn't sound too good :/. I know it's just pre-season but I want to see how DeCastro does. This goes along with other reports the DeCastro isn't living up to hype of "best guard prospect to come out in a decade." I hope he comes out first pre-season game and puts someone on their ass to prove everyone wrong.

I'm more concerned about Mr. Colon being injured (again).

De Castro will be fine if they give him help early. Expect Ben for what one series?

2 series. And I don't think Colon is really hurt I think he's just being held out because it's the first pre-season game and keeping him out helps us in two ways: one he doesn't aggravate his injury any further and two it lets us see Foster and DeCastro on the field at the same time against the first team D.

He hurt it Friday night. If I remember correctly, someone 'rolled up' on it while he was in that scuffle with Heyward. Well, breaking up that scuffle with Heyward and Adams.

    Thanx, Towel.
I read about the scuffle, but didn`t remember seeing anything about an injury to Colon. Thank you for clarifiying.
Hopefully it is minor. If so, Yeah, it will be a good chance for younginz to get some time in game situations.

I'd hold him out. 3 more preseason games. Not worth the risk of turning a small injury into a big injury.

I think you're right as far as what happened...with rolled up on or stepped on...not sure when.

Today at camp he was off to the side working out with some PUP guys and looked OK.

the only trouble with that is he needs the work in this offense too. it's a fine line with willie i hope it's minor.

I'm far less worried with Willie's ability to learn the offense with one or two fewer preseason games than I am forcing him to play on an injured ankle. It's not like this is day 1 for him, he's been thinking about the LG spot since April, and has been there for everything since then, including the 90% or so of training camp that happened before he got hurt. Plus he's an experienced veteran and not some rookie, which does make a difference, even if it is a new position. It's not a decision that even needs thought about.

it's not the learning part but the footwork. add in the screens and swings and it takes practice. his knowing where to go and being physical he doesn't need work with, it's several other things that reps help. it's a tough position. just the trade offs and delayed blitz pickups take alot of time to learn. he didn't have all that on the outside. i hope he's back soon.

if he's healty yes. he also hasen't played meaningful football in two years. no ota's last year either. he's had alot of downtime from the field. i think the line will get alot more work in game situations then ben and some of the skill starters will get. i'd like to see willie be a part of that. they may pull pouncey and gilbert earlier, but who's left needs the reps before the games count. i think the coaches would too. we can rest them more in the last game, but now they need to gel under fire. i'd even like to see he and DD switch sides on a few series, just to see. this line has alot of work to do to get this offense down.

But he's not healthy, he has a minor ankle injury. You'd play a starter with a minor ankle injury in a preseason game to work the kinks out? The FIRST preseason game? Good lord.

...I meant there are 3 more preseason games after this one. And I thought you meant you'd play him Thursday when you said, "if he's healthy yes." But now I know that's because you thought I said I'd sit him 3 more weeks.
