The Steelers go 4-1 to close out the season with the only loss to the Saints. The Pats lose two more games finish 11-5 and get the 4 seed. The Texans lose 1 more and finish 12-4 and get the 2 seed. The Steelers finish 11-4-1 get the 3 seed and play a mediocre 9-7 wildcard team as the 6 seed at home win that game and go to Houston for the divisional round as the 2 seed and win that game and advance to AFC Title game. While the Pats as the 4 seed play the Chargers as the 5 seed wildcard weekend. The winner of that game goes to KC to play the Chiefs. And the winner of that game plays the Steelers in the AFC Championship game. In this scenario the Steelers only have to beat one of the Chiefs,Pats, or Chargers to get to the Super Bowl. And if they happen to play either the Pats or Chargers should one of them upset the Chiefs the AFC Championship game would be here at Heinz Fieid. So just looking at things a little more closely I think that is the best case scenario to root for should the Steeiers not get the bye week and the 2 seed. It’s their best chance of making it to the Super Bowl as a wildcard team.

One game at a time... the Steelers need to take care of business on Sunday vs. Chargers. There's little margin for error. Steelers lose this week and Ravens win, they will only be a half game back with 4 to go with AFC North on the line. Not good.

The Ravens aren’t catching the Steelers. I’m done worrying about the division. The Steelers would essentially have to lose out almost and the Ravens would have to win out for them to win the division and that is not gonna happen. I’ll say it again the division race is over and I’m worried about seeding and seeding only at this point.

With our schedule and the Turds easy schedule and the Colts coming on strong and the Chiefs and Chargers are pretty surely going to the post season, there is NO margin for error. There's one wild card to fill. It doesn't look good through my eyes.

I bet these are the conversations Tomlin has with the team which make them look ahead and lose to teams they shouldn't lose to

It doesn’t matter. We’re gonna have to play the Chiefs and the Pats in back to back weeks one way or another...

Balt has to play at KC and at the Chargers, they'll lose both. I said it a few weeks ago, I'll say it again. Neither Cincy or Balt will win more than 8 games.

To lose the AFC North, the Steelers will have to go 1-4 or worse down the stretch. If that happens, they're not any playoff noise anyway.

I like our chances of winning in KC. Foxboro on the other hand...

The interesting thing about this season is, this season could be just like how it was in the 2016 season. Where the top 4 seeds were

    1-Patriots
    2- Chiefs
    3- Steelers
    4- Texans

If they win this division is now in question, most likely if they do they will be the 4 seed, all the teams in the 1 thru 3 seeds have much easier schedules to keep them seeded higher than us considering we arent playing at a playoff caliber lately, teams know we are playing sloppy football and it doesnt look like thats going to change any time soon.....

playing in gillette in the playoffs is an automatic loss.

I don't care what optimists, reverse jinxes, we are due's, and SteelerGlenn posters say, we are guaranteed that loss lol.

I dont. If you look at the chiefs this season their only 2 losses came on the road, against 2 other playoff teams, and they both came down to the wire and were close. An argument can be made that they would be undefeated had they played those 2 teams at home. I give us a better shot vs NE than them we have no answer on the road for the cheifs offense.

Lots of football to be played with 5 games left. Just worry about this week then go to the next.

The Kansas City Chiefs have 3 tough games to play out of their next 5 games.

1- At Oakland against the Raiders
2- At home against the Ravens
3- At home against the Chargers
4- At Seattle against the Seahawks
5- At home against the Raiders

Those 3 straight games against the Ravens, Chargers, and Seahawks should be tough. Especially playing the Seahawks in Seattle. But I think the Chiefs will handle both games against the Raiders. I will be more confident in Steelers playing the Chiefs in Kansas City in the 2nd round compared to playing the Patriots in New England. So if the Chiefs finish the season with the 1st seed, I would like the Steelers to have the 4th seed. If the Patriots win the 1st seed, I will like the Steelers to have the 3rd seed.

You have to remember that we would be facing Andy Reid in the postseason. The time when his weaknesses get exposed even more. We wouldn't have an answer for their D. But their D wouldn't slow us down either.

Truth about him in the past but he's also never had a qb the caliber of mahomes and this is probably the most talented team (probably even more talented) he's had since that 04 eagles team with donovan, T.O, with bdawk and the crew. I think alex smith really limited their offense I dont put the last few years all on andy.

Reid is the new Cowher... good coach who never had the franchise QB to get him over the top. Now he does.

His coaching weaknesses go back to his Eagles days. And our offense would shred their D. If we didn't commit any turnovers, we'd have a good chance of winning against them.

Eric berry is now back. Their defense will look very different in a few weeks. And idk how you can say a coach who went to a sb and several conference championships had weaknesses as a coach. His teams were not that great. This is the best team hes had.

Mahomes looks better than McNabb at this point. Better arm, better accuracy.

I agree he is better than McNabb but prime McNabb was really good. He's not a hall of Famer but he's the classic hall of very good guy.
