Smith-Schuster turned in a dominant performance that day. Shouldn't your future Hall of Fame quarterback want the ball with the game on the line? That's why you have an offensive coordinator there to step in and call a play.

Also, they didn't throw it on all four downs. The second down play was a run. The first option on the third-down play was a hand off to Conner. The snap screwed that up. The mistake Roethlisberger made wasn't in choosing not to hand it off after the timing was ruined and he collided with Conner. The mistake was to rush a throw to Brown rather than scramble or throw it away. They had one more down to try to score and he gave away that chance.

I know what happened but Ben admitting he wanted to throw it 4 times to Juju proves he's the problem. Point of this thread.

If he threw a completion, he'd only have to throw it to Juju once!

It doesn't prove anything other than he has great confidence in himself and Smith-Schuster, who was having a fantastic game.

some people read articles that reinforce a their own ideas of who is to blame when losses occur. same goes for when we win and similar articles try to insinuate that we are unstoppable. i imagine people look like this while reading those things...

Live look of this forum when Ben throws the ball 50+ times and neglects the RB with a #1 o-line against the 27th ranked rushing defense

Remember last year the Cheatriot game after the Jesse no catch play He did the same thing apparently the 1 yard line since the bus left needs an upgrade

All I can say is that the media loves fans who chomp down on every fake drama sound bite hook, line and sinker. I’d figure that you’d learn eventually after being hooked repeatedly.

I would like to see Ben keep it in house, but I guess that is not how things
are done anymore. And I disagree.

I do think Ben should just take the blame for the goal line gaff ,I mean wow ,blaming pouncy for blocking too well LOL,come on .
He's right about Washington though, but should just leave AB alone .

serious question. If its an RPO as has been said why would Pouncey not block to clear through the end zone Does he know that Ben changed prior to snap?

I think Ben changes his mind mid play sometimes ,I mean I watched the play again and I'm sure Conner could have taken it in if ben just sticks it in his gut instead of pulling it away.Ben had a quick panic moment and just threw it up.It probably was an RPO but the snap made Ben have a bad snap judgement and he just threw it .To me the run was there ,Ben needs to just say I should of just stuck it in Conner.Thats our Ben,what are we gonna do?

The bad snap and subsequent collision with Conner ruined the run option on that play. Roethlisberger's mistake was trying to force the pass.

I still think Conner gets in if given the ball ,collision or not ,,the whole left side was vacant of any broncos players

The problem was getting him the ball. At best, that would have been a dangerous exchange after the collision.

The smart play would have been either to try to scramble or throw it away.

Agreed. He had 3 options there, he picked the only one he shouldn't have. Hand it off or throw it away.

Like you said thats our Ben.

Lose in either the wildcard or divisional round, like Steelers usually do.

Wow, sounds like they never run that play and decided to in a crucial situation. Passing from RPO only works when there's a threat of run. I'd say lack of running the ball thru the game ruined that play.
