Is it too early to call this guy a bust? Dude was wide open, and dropped a pass that would've been a big play. That drop hurt them, because they ended up punting on that drive. He was getting criticized heavily on Twitter for that drop, most saying he didn't need to dive for it , run under the catch .

Too early. And he is nowhere near as great as Limas for biggest bust of the decade.

He's a deer in the headlights right now. I think he needs to take a seat and watch for a couple games. There isn't a lot of opportunities but he has to do something with them. At least someone does...

If he doesn't dive on that play he catches the ball and even possibly runs it in. He still needs more time. I'm hoping they really start getting him more involved and he steps up in the next few weeks because the offenses we are going to go up against, we are going to need all the points we can get.

I won't bag too much on Washington the rookie. Yes, he not Juju but that's a bit much to expect. He seems smaller and slower than he did at OK St. I don't think he's a Limas like bust, but he might not be more than sub average WR. I'm not giving up on the guy, he needs to show more, and he can do that next yr.

That was a hard catch. Limas Sweed’s in the AFC championship game was way worse. A guy dead drunk in the stands could of caught that one he was so open.

Because I wasn't being serious about the comparison, at least not yet. It is concerning that he hasn't been able to produce more.

The troubling part is that is not a mistake you can chalk up to inexperience. This is what Washington was brought in here to do. He was supposed to be a great deep threat. He has plenty of experience on plays like that. He just screwed it up.

I get the lack of production. He still needs to run better routes and gain a better understanding of his role in the offense. But if he can't even make a play like that one, he's completely useless and those snaps need to go to someone else, whether it be going with two tight ends more or giving the snaps to Hunter or Rogers.

Ben and Fichtner need to throw Washington some short passes to get his confidence up, he's not a deep threat right now, so stop forcing it.

It shouldn't happen at the pro level, especially on the type of ball that is supposed to be the strong point of his game. I'm not saying they give up on the guy for the long term. I'm saying he shouldn't be getting meaningful snaps right now.

I agree. I wasn't excusing the diving attempt, it just looked like he panicked to me.
Maybe they(Tomlin?, RF? Ben?, all 3?) feel he's the best option to have out there right now. If he wasn't the second rd pick (after cutting Bryant loose), I wonder if he'd be out there at all after how little he's shown so far...

I`m still angry too. Also angry with Grimble.

So many ways we could have won that game, mostly along the lines of catching the ball and/or not fumbling.
