When those steel mills closed down in the 60's a lot of Burghers moved away but we raised our children to be Steeler fans. My son has never been to Pittsburgh but is an avid Steeler fan.

Munchak had three years as head coach; he went 9-7, 6-10, and 7-9. The owner died during his third season; after the season, the new owners demanded he clean-sweep his staff. He refused, so they fired him. (And then went 2-14 and 3-13 with new HC Whisenhunt and his staff.)

Ken Weisnehunt has a career win record of .416 as head coach in the NFL. Munchak has a .458 as a head coach. Two great examples in addition to Lebeau who do better as a positions coach.

Mike Tomlin has a .662 in the regular season and .533 in the playoffs.

It's nice to say fire someone, but ultimately there needs to be someone there to replace them.

The funny thing is, this thread is about Tomlin kicking ass in road wins. But let's fire him.

Whiz was 19-13 when he had a QB and a miraculous catch away from winning a SB.

Munch never even had a QB.

Comparing records is a poor measuring stick. Munch has intangibles I covet in a coach but we'll likely never know what kind of coach he'd make in Pittsburgh.

It's not perfect, but records are absolutely part of evaluating coaches.

People need to just stop wasting keystrokes on the idea of Tomlin being fired. Maybe a collapse over the final seven games gets him to the hot seat, but even then, I think he would still be the Steelers HC in 2019.

Half and half. No those road warriors don’t drive to say Atlanta from Pittsburgh. But, they do drive from North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, .......

I went to a game in Atlanta where there were more Steeler fans. And they came from fairly long distances because they could get s ticket.

Yup. As a lifelong Steeler fan now living in Canada, I have traveled as much as 900 miles (KC) to see our boys play. Each time I have met fans from all over the continent. We really do travel well.

Oh yeah, of course we know Bob! In fact, Bob had dinner over at my mom's house just last week. He had a little too much Crown and Coke though, so I had to take away his Zamboni keys until he slept it off on the couch. Then we went to Timmy's for a double-double and a crueler. Good times.
