An Early Look at Steelers' 2013 Cap

I did not see much in this article that was new and by no way am I an Omar Khan, however, it might be a good read for those interested in knowing more about our cap situation for now and into 2013.

The majority of the free agents on that list are wither old or backups. Big Snack gone, Will Allen gone, Keenan Lewis gone, Larry Foote gone, etc. I see no real problems here

 

I see a problem.

Those guys are FA, so they count $0 against a cap that they are $16M over. Their departures will do nothing to reduce the amount that the Steelers are over the cap.

 

we should lose some dead money next year. we are sitting on almost 20 mil. in dead money this year.

 

I admit, I am worried but at least we have the best in the business handling our salaries/ negotiations in Omar.

 

Yes I agree. That would be my list as well. Not sure about Snack yet but I agree Keenan Lewis is gone. Apparently he is not having such a good camp. Larry Foote can go anytime in fact his replacement starts midway through the season is what I am predicting

 

i heard he was having a good camp and brown is the one struggling. i think lewis is a must sign. ike will have yet another year under his belt by then and we will have to replace him soon.

 

I didn't hear anywhere that C. Brown was struggling. From the way I understand it, Allen looks like the best of the bunch and Lewis and Brown aren't really making waves in one way or another.

i read some other days that guys were catching passes on him. maybe struggling isn't the right word but standing out i should have said.
