With the Steelers winning and moving to 7-2-1 and the Ravens beating the Bengals and now both of the Ravens and Bengals are 5-5 this division race is pretty much done. Both the Bengals and Ravens are now 3 games behind the Steelers in the loss column after today and there is just no way either the Bengals or Ravens are going to make up 3 games in the loss column to the Steelers with 6 games left to play it’s not happening. The focus now needs to be completely on getting either the 1 seed over the Chiefs and especially getting at least the 2 seed over the Patriots which is still very much in play.

It’s real simple for me if the Steelers win the next 3 games at Denver, at home with the Chargers and then at Oakland and beat the Patriots at Heinz Field the following week the Steelers could still lose in New Orleans the following week and as long as they beat the Bengals here the last game they will be the number 2 seed over the Pats. Keep in mind also the Texans have now won 7 in a row and might make getting the 2 seed over them difficult as well but I still feel they will lose at least one game which will help the Steelers out. The bottom line is this was a huge win today and it keeps homefield and the bye week very much In play which is huge.

It's not officially over like your title implies. I actually don't care if we win the division or not. I want a bye, but if we don't get a bye, I don't care if we're the 3rd or 6th seed. We've been great on the road lately so I would have no fears about being the road team. With that said, we desperately need a bye. That's one less game to worry about

Division isn’t close to locked up yet. Even my Rose Colored Glasses can see that.
I do think we will lock it up soon though.

The focus should be on the Broncos... because I’ll be there... and they better not lose!

I flew to Pitt for the playoff jags game last year. My emotions throughout were shock and hope. The whole crowd was that way it was unreal.

I'll chime in with the "it's not over" stuff. Still have to play New Orleans, Chargers and New England which wont be easy games but at least two of those are at home. We get Cinci at home too which is good. Don't count out Baltimore. Jackson looked good today so we'll see if that was a fluke or not.

Broncos won today... so hopefully they are a good team. Steelers do better against good teams. Raiders won today too.

I also think the division race is over, the Ravens have 3 losses in the division the Steelers only have one. The Steelers can go 3-3 and most likely win the division, they need the Ravens to lose one more game. I'm not worried about the Bengals, they look like a 8-8 team or worse.

Of course, I just meant that if we don't get the bye, I really don't care about the division.

Dilly Dilly, home playoff game, especially the 3 seed is an advantage too.

With the way we've played on the road, I'm not sure it is. Besides, how many home playoff games have we lost? We don't seem to have a particularly big home field advantage. Either way, the goal is the bye.

If the only game we lose the rest of the way is the regular season game against the Saints, that would be wonderful.

Fair point. Not counting Super bowl losses (ugh), Steelers are 3 H and 3 A for last six playoff losses. 8-8 if you go back to 1983. Cowher’s record in the AFCCG didn’t help.

It's not over. We play Denver (who just beat the Chargers), the Chargers, the Patriots, the Saints, the Bengals and the Raiders.

We almost lost to a 3-6 team on a 5 game losing streak today. The Raiders might not be a gimme. We could very easily lose 5 of the next 6 games and finish 8-7-1.
