And I agree as well. There are so many writers, pundits, former players, all of whom are able to claim the term "expert" because they are getting paid to divulge the regurgitated crap they heard somewhere else, or think people want to hear. Sometimes they are absolutely wrong about everything (Warren Sapp), and other times they simply miss the obvious, overlook something, don't go far enough, or are wrong with only some of what they say. And every single time I am left thinking, "Why didn't they just ask me? I could have straightened all of this out in 2 minutes and they'd have an article worth reading."

That article seems fair, true, and well thought out. I don't really take issue with a single part of it, and I can't remember the last time that happened. I really can't. Kudos and Congratulations to Aditi Kinkhabwala, for partially restoring my faith in sports writers, and hopefully changing a few lingering minds on the "women in men's sports" "debate." While it's true that they shouldn't be allowed on the sidelines as reporters (not because they are women, but because those sideline reporters should not exist -- yeah that's right Armen Keteyian, I'm talking to you), I'd have no problem letting them on the sidelines in any other capacity, including coach. I know there aren't many women even trying for that, so that's probably a bigger issue than their being turned away at the door, but it would be neat to see someday. Our dearly beloved Todd Haley never played a snap of football in his life, if I recall correctly.

    Amen.
Just thought I'd comment about Aditi Kinkhabwala. She was at training camp on Sunday taking notes, taking pics, talking to people, etc. So, that may explain why her perspective is better than some who write a lot of the regurgitated sounding material you often read. Having said that, I was hoping for more camp notes and less Mike Wallace holdout talk.

But there are so many other voices out there that also do all those things, and still come out with garbage. I wasn't just talking about the talking heads on TV. Plenty of beat writers dedicated to one team frequently have no idea what they're talking about.

Haha yeah, I almost said that but didn't think it fell in line with the rest of my post. But I think that if women want to get involved in men's sports, the one part of sexism they should have to put up with is respectful compliments about their appearance, especially if they are foxy. Maybe it's not 100% kosher, but baby steps people.

Don't worry, I already sent her a slew of text messages ;-)
