2nd contract players

I was wondering if we have ever let a player go after their rookie contract that ended up being a mistake? I know about holmes but i was glad to see him go. besides I dont think he was anything real special. I really cant remember anyone else, but I am sure i am forgetting someone. I am not saying wallace will be great, but I think if he walks we could regret it. he could latch on another afc team and kill our secondary.

 

vrabel, leon searcy,thomas evrett are 3 i wish we would have kept.

I was thinking about Searcy, I thought we might have kept him for 2 contracts. Forgot about vrabel all together

 

Hardy Nickerson.

Randel El maybe, but I don't think he applies.

 

Chad Brown is another I think of. Possibly Willie Williams too.

 

Holmes wasn't anything special?? I have to disagree, while I think he made some very dump mistakes off the field. He was clutch when we needed him the most, not to mention he absolutely dominated the Raven defense.

 

I am not saying he sucked. special to me is fitzgerald, the two johnsons and even steve smith. I hope you dont put santonio in that class. I am glad we had him and he helped us win alot of games. I just dont think it will ever be a decision we will regret.

 

Holmes was special (super bowl mvp) but overall not as special as these guys especially when you factor in the off field and locker room issues he brings to a team.

 

Holmes was indeed a special player, the guy was a beast during the 2008 playoffs. I don't even think we beat the Chargers in the divsional round if it wasn't for Holmes.

 

I know when mike Wallace dropped a pass that hit him right in the hands on fourth down in the Super Bowl I missed Holmes. I'm not saying he was a fitz either but you can tell me he isn't one of the reasons we have 6 trophys. Fortunately we have been blessed with Antonio brown.
