But he didn't break a collarbone, just had the wind knocked out of him and didn't have to sacrifice his dignity. I don't think I have ever seen a QB slide while running to the sideline with no one in front of him coming to deliver a blow. And if he did slide and the defender chasing behind him decides to crash into him anyway, would be worse.

Yeah i said a few more plays, to see if he could march them down the field. He just threw a 22yard dart for the first down with an all out blitz coming at him. Lets see if he could keep it going before you put the old fart back in.

How about your overdramatization of "Dobbs fanatics" being "out in force" needing to "return to reality"

A little too much hyperbole if you ask me, teach.

Dobbs did a fine one play job and that was all that was needed. Nothing more and no more inquisition needs to be made beyond that one glorious play that fueled a pivotal moment in the game that was better entrusted to the boss moving forward as should be.

I like hyperbole and there are Dobbs fanatics here. I'm surprised the reaction hasn't been more ridiculous. So far, we've only got one poster foolishly arguing that Dobbs should be taking snaps away from Roethlisberger.

Seems like you might be reading too much into it. At any rate, I'm glad Landry is history, but the jury is out on whether Dobbs or Rudolph can develop into starting caliber QBs, which neither is at this point. I'm rooting for Dobbs because of the UT connection and he seems like a good kid (smart too).

When Dobbs played here in Knoxville, I couldn't wait for him to graduate and move on with his life's work, which I didn't think would be in the NFL. Dobbs was super mobile and shifty in college, but a terrible passer. His big completions down the field were always 50/50 balls and his WRs bailed him out most of the time when he consistently underthrew them. He seems to be learning and developing with good coaching - something he never got at UT. I hope he keeps progressing, but the odds are probably not in his favor. Dennis Dixon 2.0 anyone?
