He was excellent most of the game yesterday, but he is the one who left Jackson alone in the end zone. Fortunately, Flacco didn't see it and sailed a ball over double coverage.

He is our only secondary player with any playmaking instincts. Aside from Haden I'd say he is our 2nd best DB.

he has been the most consistent DB besides maybe haden we have. one play doesn't define what he does for us. we also don't know if it was his man the way butler has vince covering WR's at times.:cool:

i say he is better than haden, not a knock on joe but hilton is solid.

Davis at FS is decent as well. Edmunds/coty/burns are the weak links

Hilton is always around the ball - in position to knock it down, pick it or scoop up a fumble. He has amazing awareness.

Didn't Hilton bounce around a bunch with other teams? He found a good niche in this defense the last 2 seasons that is for sure.

Going to really need a guy like Hilton with the great offense of teams we have to face up coming these last 8 games.

I am willing to give Edmunds time. The other two I agree with.

he signed with JAX undrafted and was among the final cuts then signed with NE, cut after a week. Steelers signed him to PS a few months later. Definitely a good find after all the guys they missed on in the drafts (Hilton played with Golson at Ole Miss)

Edmunds has been fine. He’s made his mistakes, but he’s also improving every week. For a guy that wasn’t supposed to start week 1 he’s been more than adequate.

He was a victim of the numbers game in NE. I found a video last year where belichek laments losing him.

Think I’ll submit a question in Ed or Gerry’s weekly post gazette chats to see if they know anything about it.

I actually think he is better than Haden , He makes more plays...But, Haden is usually on the No.1...So there is that

It was a zone. You can tell from how the players were deployed that he had the outside. I'm not knocking Hilton overall. I think he should be out there every down and slide to the slot when they go nickel or dime.

Agree. Edmunds should not be expected to set the world on fire in year 1. Troy Polamalu wasn't that great in 2003.
