Just like I predicted before the season, the Jaguars would take a step back this season.

I didn't think it would be this bad though. Granted there are other issues, but they need to realize that Bortles is not the answer.

They have some talent on defense and they basically caught lightning in a bottle last year. They were pretty solid until they had to try to back up that big mouth CB's drivel.

The Jaguars play the Eagles next week in London, probably another loss.

Once they focus on you and call holding and PI, you kind of come back to earth as a defense.

Last year they were able to get ahead on the scoreboard and got away with a lot more on defense. The way the NFL is structured though, offensetshould carve the defense up if they have an above average line and QB

Funny how hard it is to win when your qb keeps giving the ball away

They were very fortunate with very little injuries last year too.

This year more banged up and Bortles playing like Bortles pre 2017.

No A.J. Bouye this week either, hope Wentz picks them apart.

I am not surprised by the Jags lack of success one little bit. Even before the season started I was thinking that they will end up finishing 3rd in that division.

Maybe I'm a homer- ok I am a homer- but I thought their wins over the Steelers last year were a fluke. Turns out the Steelers made them look good. Fournette was their big playmaker, and I had a feeling that by the way he plays he'd be a big injury risk this year.

Their window was last season- they had a big chance against the Patriots, blew it, and they won't get near the Super Bowl again for a long time.

Now, if you want to partake in some Jags hating fun- I do- then I recommend following Vito Stellino on Twitter. Some of us older hands remember Don Vito when he covered the Steelers in the 1970's and 1980's (for those you who don't, suffice it to say that he was the Ed Bouchette of his day). Vito is still at it, now covering the Jags. His twitter feed is filled with angry conversation and lament about Bortles and Fournette- the basic plot is that the Jags have drafted stupidly, especially in passing over Mahomes to take Fournette.

Hate to say it but the game against Philidelphia has pretty much knocked the team out of playoff contention as it stands. Even if that did not somehow, Indianapolis, largely thanks in part to Quenton Neslon (my number one rated 2018 NFL Propsect ) and the rest of the offensive line will prove quite the challenge for Jacksonville. Add the fact that Andrew Luck is close to 100% and that famed "Jaxson 5" could be in some trouble.

Way too many Wild Card teams will be forming and asserting themselves within two weeks time in the AFC. Add the fact that a division sweep, which they blew, was their only chance and the proverial fork can be stuck in the Jaguars this season.

Even assuming Indianapolis cannot put down the Jaguars, I am confident that we can this time around. The playing field is much different.
