What a nice win and a good statement win going into a tough part of the schedule but I have a question. Why are we getting off to such a slow start every game and end up with big 2nd quarters? I feel as we move into these "better" teams this could hurt us. I want to enjoy this win but just was wondering if anyone else felt this way?

On the contrary, if they're gonna slow start on O they might as well keep deferring.

True but that getting it out of the half is nice as well... Until Ridley decides to cough it up hahahaha

    Definitely a coin flip

I thought that crossed my mine was that the horrible conservative play calling we did in the first quarter was to lull the Browns into a false sense of domination while determining the best way to attack their defense starting in the 2nd, quarter on. I was drinking however.

This is one slow start that did not bother me. I knew we were going to win this game with little problem. Now as for next week I'll be nervous as hell if we start slow against the Ravens.

Well not sure how you can say that with our history vs sub 500 teams. Yeah I was confident and thought we should win but I would go as far as to say I knew we would win giving our history. jmo

I made post guaranteeing the win. I just had a super strong hunch. Also it was the Browns in the Burgh, if you're going to guarantee a victory this would be the one.

The win would have been a little bit better if the Bungles would have lost as well. That would have been 2 weeks everyone in the Div would have lost except us. Oh well, on to Ratville for the W>

Slow starts need to stop, especially at home. Main reasons we lost to KC and Baltimore. Even though we came back and tied those games up. The points you give up early come back to haunt you at the end.

Luckily it was the Browns yesterday and not a good offensive of team. We easily could of been in a 14-0, 17-0 hole.

Whoever is scripting the Steelers 1st 15 plays should re-evaluate what they are doing. Just horrible play calling in the beginning, along with the players and coaches that seem in a fog in the beginning of games. Start warming up sooner or do something to change it up some.

I would say that’s a indicator that we get out coached Monday thru Saturday. Teams that start and close games poorly are generally portly coached

There is really no game plan in place for a MT coached team. Never has been, never will be. Slow starts are indicative of this. He has a business as usual approach to every game and for the most part he is very successful at it until we go up against much better teams that decipher the Steelers weaknesses.
    JMHO.
