Is he a healthy scratch , his rookie season isn't going the way we hoped.

That sucks! No way he should be behind Hunter.

Unfortunately he hasn't showed he is ready for prime time yet. Looking forward to see what Burnett brings to the table.

    Is Le'von Bell playing??

Just goofing around. I've noticed a lot of threads get off track at times.

It's gonna sound crazy but it's really not that crazy. You think Ben isn't giving him a fair shot? Ben is also talking up Hunter quite a bit. Still waiting to see what he does in Hunter.

    Ben said....That's Mason's WR...not mines....

You think Burnett gets a lot of run today? Does he come in for Bostic or Williams? Who else has the green dot? Any chance they both come off the field for Fort and Burnett? I'm not too optimistic on how much time Burnett sees being his first game back. Should be interesting...

He probably will be the starting Strong Safety today.

Hunter should not be getting a hat over JW.

Hunter has done nothing since he has been here, and he did very little before he got here. Hunter being active over Washington is a mistake. At least Washinton has some upside. Hunter seems to be one of Ben's boys though.

Hunter is Ben's deep threat, not Washington :hehehe:

I wouldn't mind if they actually took a couple shots. If not it's a waste IMO.

You think? Every article I've read leading up said TE was going to remain and that a definitive role for Burnett wasn't clear at the moment. Could be gamesmanship though so we won't know until the game starts I guess...

Tomlin has done this with rookies before, often as a kick in the ass. At this point, I don't think Hunter or Washington offer much. So they play the veteran for a week and send a message to the 2nd-round pick about stepping up and earning his place.

Most of the comments from Tomlin came Tuesday, before Burnett had put in a full week of practice, so it's tough to say what they will do. After all that time out, I'm guessing we will see Burnett in sub packages and maybe take a few snaps in the base defense here and there. Maybe he will take back the first-string job, but I doubt they put it fully back on him today.

Normally I would agree but Washington doesn't seem like a guy who needs a kick in the butt. I think Ben is just lobbying for Hunter because of experience and height. You know more margin for error....

It's not like either one of them has taken ownership of the spot. All it will take is getting some separation and making a few plays , its still wide open.

Or maybe Washington was inactive to let Hunter get some reps and game film to present to teams for an upcoming trade.

I told my friends a week ago how I wanted to offer a 1st or 2nd along with J Hunter to Arizona for Patrick Peterson. I will keep my Hope's alive till Tues, 4:00pm

Hunter does do a nice job blocking for those quick passes to Brown. He got a nice block on the touchdown right before the half. :)

I don't understand how this all falls on Washington so much. Ben was having lots of trouble early on with connecting to his receivers like we are used to ESPECIALLY with the long ball. And that is exactly why he's here.

It's tough for him to get poorly thrown deep balls ahead of AB, JuJu and short balls to Conner and the TE's.

I still think this relashionship will develope just fine. We are loaded with weapons.

Well, Ben does want that 6'4" guy and they got rid of his beast 6'4" 235lb 4.3 deep threat.

Washington, while people say he can go up and get the combative catches, that isn't what Ben likes to do with the deep balls.
