It's Twitter you only get so many characters. He said... Automatic Championship if the Steelers get Peterson.

Oh no, I see Glemm is in here giving his expertise.

I was walking up on our local boardwalk and they have a ticker like Times Square has and just as I was walking by today the headline was Peterson wants traded. Maybe it's a sign.

Why must you hurt me like that. I'd have to move from my home. By the way it was a great Monday here in eagle land.

I do like his enthusiasm though. "Screw that, the Steelers can get it done! Colbert!!"

The cost of tagging him again next year is prohibitive. The only way that won't be the case is if he refuses to report in time to have this year count toward his free agency. In that case, they would tag him again. But there is no way they are going to tag him at over $20 million for 2019, especially not after all the crap he pulled this season.

Not quite, the price would be 120% of his 2018 salary (which decreases every week he doesn't show up). It would have been 17.5m if he showed up for week 1. Now he could be transition tagged under $7m..... but realistically the Steelers wouldn't want to go through another year of drama.

I still don't see the steelers trading a high draft pick.... it's just not in their blood.

Your one way of thinking. You realize when they tag him they don't pay him right away, correct? He hasn't showed up to camp the last two years, why would he the 3rd year? Steelers tag him and find a trade partner. They've never actually pursued trading him before. He's not going to risk sitting out two years in a row to spite the Steelers and turn down a huge payday. Raiders got a 1st for Amari Cooper and you think it's out the realm of possibility the Steelers get a 1st for Bell :lolol:

Key difference, Cooper shows up for work and Bell doesn't. Cowboys waaaaay overpayed. Maybe Chucky is getting smarter, gets fleeced by the Steelers on Bryant, but fleeces Cowboys on Cooper. Look at Amaris numbers, do they look like 1st round pick numbers to you?

That will make two of us and unfortunately I got tickets for two more games. Apparently the Steelers aren't even making a play for him. I'll have to see what's given up for him before I completely lose my ****.

No but that's my point... stupid/desperate teams exist. Bell is probably a better receiver than Cooper and then the whole running the ball factor. Steelers could definitely get a 1st for him.

Just a thought, they could tag him just to force him to sign a real contract. If he pulls the same crap two years in a row his FA value would plummet.

So when he gets traded to the Saints or Patriots. Do we still have to pretend he wasn't on the trade block? :roflmao:

For the sake of the league I don't understand why any team makes deals with the Patriots.

I would trade a first round pick in 2019, and a third round pick in 2020.

No, we pretend we really didn't want him in the first place. And he really isn't that good.
