I don't understand the venom being spewed his way. First, he is not under any contract and does not have to report to camp. Second, it is the first day of camp! Camp is not fun, all players hate it so if you can miss a bit of that then so be it. He will report, he will sign the tender and he will play all of 2012. Even if that happens in 2 weeks it is fine. As much as I agree he had a lackluster 2H'11, he is still a top 10 WR in the NFL and really, a top 5 threat. Factoring age into the mix, there aren't 5 WR's I'd rather have on the roster across the NFL really as a game day threat that not only is capable, but also opens up the rest of the field.

I'm not Wallace's biggest fan but chill out and cut the dude some slack. I am sure his agent is driving the bus here.

nate washington went over 1,000 yds. last year with 1 less TD then wallace and 2 more catches. just sayin. wallace ended up as # 11 in receiving in the league last year. one thing i will say about him was the YAC yards 498. that was top 5. this is a new offense. wallace will not just stroll in here and play right away and be effective in 2 weeks. i say kick and punt return duty for him. 8-)

Noone (that i've seen) is saying he HAS to report to camp. We are saying he should get his butt here like the rest of the team. New OC, new playbook, and new offensive teammates. Get in here and get on board. We cordially gave him the opportunity to negotiate his contract without reducing his tender (which we could have done) and now it's time to get to work.

Don't care for this way of thinking at all. Noone likes camp so just don't show up because it's hard?? And there's is absolutely no evidence that it is even close to happening, even in 2 weeks.

I'm a big Wallace fan myself, but i'm not going to cut him anymore slack. I've been cutting away slack for months now and there's no more slack to cut. It's all gone. And by the sounds of things the Steelers aren't cutting anymore slack either. They are officially done with negotiating and it's either sign the tender or prepare to move on. I have zero problem with that.

As far as his agent goes.....i believe he's at the heart of the problem and should be told to walk. Just my opinions of course
    :)

No, I don't think I'll chill. Camps hard? Oh boohoo, cry me a river, the rest of your teammates are out there doing it, you be there to. He's already missed OTA's and now is missing camp, theres a new offense to learn, he should be there. He's got nothing to gain by not signing his tender and reporting to camp, except to miss camp. And if thats his weak ass lazy attitude ship him out now and get him off the team.

We went to the Super bowl with Cedric Wilson, Antwann Randle El and Hines Ward. We'll be fine with or without him.

Doesn't change my mind at all about his agent. Ed only says "that's what i've been told" and we all know what Wexell was told a couple days ago as well, and it turned out to be a false lead/tip. ;-)

I will cut him no slack, either you want to be a Pittsburgh Steeler or you don't!! Wallace and his agent had all of the off season to F&% around and iron this out. He knows that he has limited options ,so either tell the front office the bottom line or get your A$$ to camp, we have a new system ......................Just saying

He is now offically a distraction...Each and every day he misses hurts his play at this point......Plus a lot of his Mates are probably not as high on him as they once where.....Every snap he allows Sanders to take makes him more expendable....At some point the Team will decide if they just need to take the distraction part out of the equation......

As I stated a few weeks ago,,,I expect a trade after the 4th. practice ......No way will the Team let this go on into the pre season games IMO...The sad part is we will probaly get very little in the trade....I expect a 2nd. rounder which is not really enough IMO but is better than haing guys wonder when and if Wallace will show up....

The Team is building a Team and Wallace is not a part of that....That's it in a nut shell.......The Team should set him straight...Sign your tender get in Camp and maybe then we will work on a deal?Or pack your bags because your time here is just about over...Heck that's probably what he really wants....IMO it is now time to force the issue and move on 1 way or another for the good of the Team that is working hard and doing the right things...

Sure why not....Trade talks are really all that are left....Wallace is no good to Haley if he misses to much camp.....Wallace is no good to his Team Members,as some will want him here and others are wondering will they just give him the # 1 spot back when he returns?

The owner is now thinking why in the world should we pay him almost 3 Mil for 6 games and get nothing for him next year....If he wont take the offer this year then why would he take it next year esp when it's going to be less......

This is the way negotiations go.....Stop talking either sign your tender or our offer or we will go to the next step....The next step is a trade,,they may give him a week or 2 ,but I doubt it.....He has had plenty of time...

There is no way Wallace even sniffs top 5 WRs in the league. He has potential, but is still not a real "goto" receiver when you need a play. He is a stretch the field homerun threat and is only a little more polished than the Ratbird youngster who beat us last year.

Guys like Megatron, B. Mashall, Fitz, A. Johnson, Roddy White, Reggie Wayne are all "goto" guys that when you need a play, you go to them. Even Santonio is more of a goto guy who will make a play. Guys like Bowe, V. Jackson, Welker, S. Smith, etc are all in the same catagory, even Desean, and I will give Julio Jones and AJ Green (youngsters) as much if not more upside to become dominant receivers than Wallace. These goto guys make the QBs job much easier, as you only need to get it near them, where as with Wallace, he needs to basically be open and you need to hit him in stride.

I like Wallace and I want him on the team, but he is not a top 10 receiver yet. He is potential.

Actually, if it is 4th and death and we need 7 yards to keep the game alive, I trust Brown, Sanders, and even Cotchery more as the "goto" type receiver to make the play. Wallace is more the homerun guy at any other (non-critical) tme of the game.

I don't think he'll get traded, they would get fleeced, won't even get a 2nd rounder for him. If he continues to hold out into the season I think they would hold onto him as a wild card/insurance policy. Plug him in week 10 and see if he can elevate the offense or fill a spot if someone has been injured.

I don't think I am Waffling.....I am talking about a date the Team starts making calls to trade him....As Tomlin Era stated above we might not be able to get anything for him.......So really no need to bet as there will be no way to prove if the Team is shopping him or not.....No reason to think they wont shop him at this point ,because they already shopped him to all 32 Teams this off season.....

If a Team that is thin at WR and has plenty of cash and they sufffer a injury to 1 of their top 2 WR'S then Wallace will be gone.....At this point I actually agree with Tomlin Era without some help we can't get much for him.......

I would say the Vikings might take a hard look at him if Harvin continues to be vocal about wanting a trade. They are in serious need of some help at the WR position and it wouldn't surprise me if they looked at some of the castoffs that will happen when the Pats try to get down to their 53.

Anyone can take a hard look at Wallace, but the fact is that since he is not under contract, the Steelers can't trade him. Pretty much end of discussion.

He's a RFA not a FA, Steelers can deal him if they want.

Love this article. The Steelers did not let Franco Harris, Jack LAMBERT, or Hines Ward control things - and allowed them to hold out. What makes Wallace think that things will be different for him? He is not worthy to shine the SHOES of these players and he's thinking that his tactics are going to work?
