I don't think he shows until after the trade deadline. Living in his fears of being a decent back on a cellar dweller.

he doesn't care about the Steelers, never has. Needs a flashy city organization. NY, LA, Miami, something to promote his rap career. Gonna be the next notorious BIG without the skills, just the body lol

Yep. He had a good hand but he bet the house and the Steelers had a better hand. Now his pile has shrunk. Will he still get a big deal next year? Yes, i think so. Will it be as big as the Steelers offer was? Doubt it. I think he's going to end up losing money as the result of his hold out. There is major recency bias in the NFL. Bell may not have played in a year so I don't think any team is going to give him a huge deal.

I understand not wanting to take the Steelers offer. I have no problem with that. But I think his best bet would have been to sign the tag, make a ton of money this year, light it up and then sign a huge deal elsewhere next year. His offer next year will be smaller than it could have been and he's losing out on the money from this year.

I'm starting to think that it's not about the money for him though, it's about the principle. I'm not sure he cares about losing money. He wanted to set a trend of RB's getting huge money. He wanted to be paid like a WR, and if he had to risk a lot to get that, then so be it. I could be wrong though and maybe him and his agent are just not very bright.

more than half the morons that run NFL teams have no idea what they are doing. It is more than likely their will be a team that forks over the money.

If it is indeed about principal, well, he needs to be the Player rep for them in the next CBA, because 70% of the players in the league likely live paycheck to paycheck and allowed this garbage deal to be because they didnt have the sack to ruin the owners.

I believe that he won't show up until after the deadline, but for a different reason. Any team he is traded to would be able to put a 2nd tag on him next year, which runs the risk that arbitration would decide his salary this season is yearly (half the games, half the 2018 tag amount) instead of per game (same whether he played a full season or only half). By waiting until after the trade deadline, the Steelers are unlikely to put a 3rd tag on him, which would require escalating his salary to the QB rate.

Practice squad players make 6 figures. Not even 1% of the league is living paycheck to paycheck.

Personally I wouldn't care if he didn't show up at all this season. Conner is good now and seems to get better as he goes so...who needs him?

Our defense will be the deciding factor in wins or losses this year. Until they stop giving up the big splash plays when we desperately need shut down plays we will struggle.

Forget about Bell - he's just a distraction and a non factor at this point.

That depends on how much they spend from each paycheck.
6 figures could easily be spent on 1 Lambo or a couple Rolos.8-)
No player should be living from paycheck to paycheck, but I would think some are.

I hope he’s as far away from this team as he can possibly get...and stays there. Him coming back will be nothing but trouble.

Now that you stated this, it made me think (curse you ;)). This is probably why so many of these guys are broke so quickly. No mater the size, they do live, or spend, everything from paycheck to paycheck.

I wonder how many days it takes to flush weed out of your system to pass a pee test? Maybe that has something to do with when he shows up.

Maybe some of you aren't old enough to remember the last players strike. There were NFL players all over the place filing for bankruptcy. I think if you do a google search you will see something like 1 out of every 6 players end up filing for bankruptcy. I don't know how accurate that is, but it wouldn't surprise me either.

If a pee test is the test method used by the NFL, it seems like there are ways to get around it. I can't remember which NFL player was caught at an airport with bags of urine and a rubber 'dispenser' about 10 years ago.

A casual smoker is 30 days. Although that is dependent on body fat. It can take significantly longer for a heavy smoker.

It’s been a couple years since I looked into it,but the last I checked nfl drug tests were unobserved urine tests. If you fail an unobserved urine test you’re a dumbass.
