Frankly, I'm not even sure why he's on the team. He is that bad.

If we bench him it has to be for Sutton. As bad as Burns is I still have more confidence in him than I do Sensebaugh.

I was driving and was stuck listening to the first 3 quarters of this game from a Cincinnati station. Even those guys thought he was horrible and should be targeted on every pass play.

I live in Cincinnati. You were listening Dave Lapham and Dan Hoard. Even though I don't like their team these guys are top notch broadcasters. They definitely know what they're talking about. Both of them are probably sick to their stomach right now after that loss. I will enjoy listening about it.

    Should he be benched?

How about "why was he not benched during the game?"

Yes but Sutton or Sensabaugh hardly seem like any kind of upgrade.

Yes, but Sensabaugh isn't much better. I'm so disappointed in Burns, he had a good training camp and he was my pick to be the most improved player on defense . I really thought the hiring of a experienced DB coach like Tom Bradley could help Burns, he still makes the same mistakes.

Burns has to be benched. I feel we all agree with this. Sensabaugh can't be any worse and should get the start. Sutton did make a few plays today at least. We might have to start facing the facts that he is just another 1st round bust. I to was hoping he would elevate his game under Bradley. He seems to have taken a step back. Make him sit and earn his way back, if that's possible. Hopefully Colbert is looking around the league to possibly trade for a corner.

I recall that Artie had 2 bad plays in the game. Maybe there were more? I am not sure that's enough to get a player benched. Artie appears to have the physical tools to be a good CB. The mental aspect of the game seems to be the issue. I don't think the coaches will give up on him yet. Only time will tell if he can combine the mental and physical aspects of his game to become a more complete and consistent player.

We were supposed to have JIII instead. So, when you reach or sit back and lose out on the draft pick that you really wanted then this is what happens

    This.

Only so much a coach can do. Burns needs to be held accountable. Enough is enough.

Our receivers make a play and it's "our receivers are beasts"
The other team makes a play and it's " our CB's suck".
Burns has struggled, but he has the tools to succeed. I'm not ready to give up on him. Maybe splitting some time though.

Definitely! He would not start on some really bad defensive teams!I keep on hearing he has the physical tools to succeed but he has regressed the more he plays!I’m surprised more teams don’t throw his way more often as the only way he breaks up a play is with his back turned and is all over the receiver with borderline pass interference or the qb makes a bad pass to a wide open receiver.Unfortunately we don’t have other clear options!

I feel if we have any shot of winning the SB we are going to NEED Artie Burns... its not like we have 4 other all-world corners on this team.

We need to figure out what he does best and just let him do that.

If it is press-man ... come up with a situation where we he plays press-man 100% of the time.
