Keeping in mind, he is on the committee that changed the rules.

He has complained before about refs. A guy on the radio said he will only do that after we win. He won’t use the refs as an excuse for loosing.

I agree 100% with Mike on this one. Getting more and more disgusted with the league every week. I'm just waiting for it to become the TFL (touch football league)

I figured a fine was coming. I'm sure he knew it too but needed to be said.

Good for you Mike Tomlin you said what a lot of people have been saying. It is ashame the NFL leaders are such smacked asses. They know they screwed up and to save face they hit you with a fine. Doesn't change the situation with the ruleings or how the refs interpret the rules.

I’m surprised no one turned this into a “fire Tomlin now” post.

I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but it’s getting to the point where I actually enjoy watching college football more than NFL games. The NFL can’t conduct a kickoff without a touchback or a penalty on the return. The personal foul calls are ridiculous. I find myself sitting there saying that calls against the opposing team are BS. It takes the refs forever to review a play that everyone in America can immediately see the correct call. The flow of the game is just painful......

The college game is like the NFL of years ago. I saw five good clean hits on the QB in the Ohio State Penn State game that would have been roughing the passer in the NFL. The college game just flows better now. The NFL is losing viewers and will continue to lose people because the games are just painful to watch. I’ll always watch the Steelers games, but I find myself watching fewer non-Steeler games.

In College football they still play for the “love” of the game.
Pro football is exactly what it says a job. I’d be surprised if many even love playing football in the nfl.

The officiating is a joke, I'm glad he said something publicly. Won't change much but at least he voiced some displeasure.

I'm with you on college football until there's a 'targeting' ejection. Dumbest rule in the history of sports.

It needed to be said, but the league is making their agenda clear: Don't touch the quarterback.

Count me as a big MT critic. This week he showed a game plan and some brass to take a stand for his players. Where has that been forever?

I've never understood why refs can't be called out by players and coaches. They are a part of the game and do a job. If they are screwing up the NFL should not be protecting them. They deserve to be held to the same criticism as everyone else. No one is ever fined for calling out a player or a coach so calling out an official should not be fined.

Totally agree as there has to be some middle ground. The NFL is getting their wish as overall points scored through 5 weeks is the most ever. They have changed the game as we know it.Pressure on the qb has always been part of the game and there are clean hits on the qb that are now penalties. If I’m a qb knowing that I can just throw at will because the defense can’t touch me of course I’m going to have a field day!I enjoy watching a good clean defensive effort and the NFL is basically eliminating that!

I don't mind the targeting in college as much as you'd think. It's reviewable and the penalty is clear cut.

None of this we'll check and send you a fine in the mail. You get the targeting, you're out. Depending on when you get it , you may be out for part of the next game as well.

Plus they carry up to 125 players on the roster!

That’s the figure I’ve seen mentioned, though not sure coaches salaries are as open for viewing as players.
