I've been reading the posts on the Wallace related threads here, and have noticed there is this logic or even worry if you will, that if we sign Wallace for big bucks....this will mean it may be difficult to keep Brown too, and almost impossible to keep Sanders on top of that. I understand the fear of losing Brown he's shown some great stuff already and I think we all like him as a person. I like Sanders a lot too but why fear losing him? I know it's just different schools of thought, but why panic that if we keep Wallace we lose Sanders? Sanders seems like the more replaceable player via the draft and because of injury he hasn't been able to put as much on tape as he or anyone else would have wanted.

I like Sanders I really do, but if you truly look at the situation the way the steelers front office has to, Sanders just seems like the odd man out and if I was Colbert or Tomlin I think I would go the way of making Wallace and Brown my priorities at WR
and ask Sanders to maybe be the guy to take a little less when his rookie contract expires?

Just wanted to throw it up for debate

i posted in another thread about my thoughts of keeping all of them. if he can get healthy, sanders is a good receiver. maybe the most polished of the 3. i agree not alot of tape to show but enough. teams know about the young money bunch.

back to my thought though. if we can sign wallace this year job one. brown can be tenderd next year with the same (essentially) offer the put on wallace this year ( a first round tender). they could also then tender saunders. he may even get that high of a tender, depending on his season and health this year. it won't break our bank and gives us a year to play with lower amounts then it would cost with longer contracts. this gives us basicly two years with these guys to see where they are and by the end of next season, there will be some other vets they will have to make some decisions on. troy, ike, harrison, keisel, the qb's, cotchery, heath, clark, mundy. alot of cap money will be opening up after the 2013 season, going into 2014. the tv contract should also up the cap some. this would be the time to give brown and sanders the contracts or not when that time comes. bens money will be large by then too,but we should be able to keep all the young money around here.

Sanders has shown flashes but has been too inconsistent (due to injuries) to warrant a big contract. Unless he blows up over the next two years, we should be able to afford him

Manny Sanders like Mac daddyo states, maybe the most polished of all
the young WR's. If he can shake off the injury bug and don't forget the passing
of his mother, he has all the tools to be an exceptional WR. i know this is a
kind of off the subject but I am going to throw it out. We all worry about the Steelers
signing players, don't forget #7 will want one more BIG PAYDAY, I am sure this has to be
in the back of their minds.
