True. But Ben should have won an Emmy for his acting job when he got touched with a fingernail on top of his helmet. What a flop!

I hope he keeps doing it. We've gotten screwed on these calls for years both defensively and offensively. Ben has been roughed so many times without a flag. I mean, what other QB has had his freaking nose punched and broken and not gotten a call? Milk it now for all it's worth.

The problem with the “body weight” part of the rule is twofold: (1) it’s worded so broadly that it takes in any tackle with the defender’s body above the quarterback’s, and (2) the referees—at least right now—are exercising no discretion in their enforcement.

Watching some plays, you can see the defender’s weight distributed over his upper body (on the QB) and his legs (on the turf). Typically, he’ll further break his fall with one hand (also on the turf). That should NOT be within the “landing with body weight on the QB” definition.

Referees are experienced enough to be able to distinguish between that and a Turkey Jones Takedown, and they can always throw the flag and then have a powwow before enforcing it.

That, combined with the fact that our D is rarely anywhere near the QB

I already had problems with the product: the immense delays, the loss of excitement on big plays because you're just waiting for a flag or a challenge, the showboating, the off field nonsense, large amounts of stupid, losing half your team to ACL tears, and so forth. To say nothing of the anthem stuff. Now you can't even hit. At all. It's bad enough the league doesn't know what a catch is but now they're confused about what a tackle is. WTF?! The players announcing last night were dumping all over the calls. It is becoming unwatchable. I cancelled NFL Sunday Ticket. I'm done with fantasy after this year, too. I gave up on the NBA years ago and the NFL is in trouble with me.

Unfortunately the N.F.L is making this black and white with no grey area!I get it but putting pressure on the qb is part of the game!I’m not talking cheap shots or helmet to helmet but a clean tackle and sack of the QB.Is it possible to have a clean tackle of the QB?Doesn’t look that way right now.

Make no mistake this has never been about keeping the players safe. It's about money pure and simple to minimize any future lawsuits.

I suspect the refs may be told to lay off the calls moving forward.

    Or maybe I just hope.

The ref when he called the roughing call on Davis sounded like a defeated man, essentially saying this is ridiculous but I need to call it.

I agree with those who say the game today is nearly unwatchable. I live outside of PA, so we get Steelers games only when they're on prime time. Last night's game was the first I've watched this year (I don't even bother watching the other games anymore). It was awful. Just hurry up and put a flag on the quarterback already. Between all the penalties and listening to the announcers, I went to bed early. It used to be the announcers were professional broadcasters. Now half of the announcers are former players that can't speak properly, talk over each other, and yell at one another, depending on the network you're watching. I try to mute the TV and listen to the PGH radio broadcast on the internet. It's a shame. I've been watching since the '70s, and this game just isn't the same. No wonder they are losing viewers in droves. I'll start watching hockey.

Imagine sacking Brady now, 1st and goal on the one yard line. Disqualification and a 100K fine.
    $hit's gettin' stewped.
Give it a year or two the QB's will have flags on their hips.

I turned my TV off after the roughing penalty on Davis. My wife said what are you doing, the Steelers are killing them? I said it’s not the Steelers, it’s the NFL. It sucks.

Almost like the video above I was hoping someone would come free and clear and just grab Fitz in a bearhug.
Just to show how ridiculous it has become.

I know Ben has taken some serious hits and Brady looks to the ref and gets the late flag if someone even dares to touch him but.

Ben falling like a felled tree after a hand to the head was embarassing. I am a life long Steeler fan but I wanted Ben flagged for unsportmanlike conduct that fake diving sh%t has to be stopped before it takes hold. It has already ruined soccer LOL.

James Harrison tried that approach, which got him fined, then suspended w/o pay. They're not going to have it, plain and simple.
Wrap up the QB, wait for the whistle.
