What the hell happened to Gilbert at RT? I must have missed that injury. I was shocked when I saw Feiler was starting.

The offense scored 24 points against a bad defense. The defense gave up a net 21 points to a really hot offense and everyone hates them? I don't get it. The NFL has changed. The days of dominating defense are over. They forced a bunch of turnovers, scored a touchdown, and made plays at the end to win it. It may have been hideous at times but the defense did their part. If the offense had been able to put up some points in the second half the game would have been over earlier.

Fitz gave us 2 giveaways. Tw of those picks he wasnt even under pressure and it was just bad passes. We were not good

Again, if 24 points against a bad defense is a good showing from the offense then a net 21 points against a good offense is a good showing from the defense.

It's a good point. I would say overall the D played a little better than what we have seen recently and the O played below their potential but better than we sometimes see on the road....we pretty much got DirectvBen last night....

All I know is that if we played a defense as bad as ours is, I would not consider what Tampa did on offense a good showing. If I were to assign grades on the offense and defense last night based on my expectations the defense would get a better grade than the offense. As ugly as it looked they gave up a net 21 points and forced 4 turnovers. The offense scored 24 against what is supposed to be a bad defense. Neither performance was great but I don't get why the defense is singled out for criticism unless people have unrealistic expectations based on how defense used to be played in the NFL. Those days are over. Best we can hope for is what we saw last night: turnovers, pressure, and hopefully a key stop when we need it.

Sutton played in dime packages early, then as the slot corner when Hilton got hurt. That injury forced Behre into the lineup more, which was a disaster. (He was beaten badly on the fourth-down play, which was a very simple route by the tight end. He is just too slow.)

Injuries are playing a big role in this team's struggles. The secondary went from bad to disastrous with Haden out late in the Cleveland game and against the Chiefs. Losing Hilton is a big blow and it showed in the fourth quarter. Burnett has been a disappointment, but at least he keeps Behre off the field.

By the way, Haden was outstanding. He slipped on the Bucs' first touchdown, but otherwise he was making plays and he did a great job on Jackson. The broadcast crew kept talking about how little impact he made, but they never seemed to figure out that Haden was the reason why he had such a quiet night.

He has a hamstring injury. I'm not sure if it was late in the Chiefs game or in practice early last week, but he didn't practice Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

Yes and the STs expert that Berhe is also had a blatant facemask penalty...looking more and more like a great signing by the day. Meanwhile we have the two Allens down on the farm...

Behre needs to go yesterday. He is completely useless when called upon to play defense. He is just lost in coverage. Watch the replay of that fourth down. There was absolutely nothing to the tight end's route. Behre just can't move well enough.

The facemask was a killer, too. Behre was one of three Steelers who had the guy surrounded at the 15 and he handed the Bucs 15 yards by being careless.

Run blocking needs to improve but for not having Decastro and Gilbert they did a decent job of pass protection.

I just don't understand why B Allen isn't up here at least playing STs . What happened between last year when he was all over STs and this year? I still say they should of started his conversion to FS last year. He has all the measurables and IMO would be providing some Safety and possibly some slot depth right about now....

Winners: Team played well and had a 30-10 half time lead: Losers: Pitt held completely scoreless in the second half sleeping on a lead that was vanishing fast: Losers: 13 penalties for 155 yards, and playing that soft zone getting picked apart underneath: Winners: the whole team played well in the first half. But was out played in the 2nd half and was lucky to get a slim 3 point win.......

I can understand that. I live in Tampa, so I know of him first-hand. Was never a fan of him as a player though.

    This.

And who knew he was so deceptively fast? He outran both corners on his way to the endzone, too.

Can we at least hope for not sending a CB blitz five times in a row and a little less coverage from our OLBs even though TJs work against Howard is getting overlooked. I still think schematically and personnel wise we can do much better. I don't know if it's Butler/Tomlin or are we bringing guys like Fort and Thomas along slowly. IMO there are guys currently on the PS that should have roster spots over a couple guys. Berhe and maybe DHB in particular. I don't think Burnett always being banged up is doing us any favors . It may even be keeping Berhe on the roster right now. I don't know is LT Walton doing enough to warrant being in a rotation? I know Dan was in for some snaps and Alualu. Hooks anyone?....I'd like to see guys that can play well enough to steal some snaps from Heyward and Tuitt so we have them fresh down the stretch in games. Something gives me the feeling we are gonna be trying to hold on for dear life in most of our games....

Holding on last night would have been a lot easier had we simply put together one TD drive in the second half. The fact is that the defense is not good. The offense should be very good. We are going to need them to be so if we want to win again.

I think most of us knew McDonald can motor. He's a stud with durability being his biggest weakness. I'm surprised they didn't look to him more. He's great on those wheel type routes...

    2 problems there:

    1) We came out trying to impose a running game when we hadn't at all in the 1st half.
    2) The Bucs made... gasp.. adjustments. (MT pay attention please)
