Steelers own nothing until he signs.
I don't know why they do this but that's the way they've worked as far as I recall. They don't want sympathy, when they decide they just want that person gone and they are willing to have it cost them. Agree they could protect themselves much better but they don't. They side with that player and give them the best chance/option at the time. Bizarre

Just speculation on my part. Bell doesn’t want to play for the tag amount of 855k per game, he thinks he’s worth more.... so why would he choose to sign with someone else?

The kicker is that.... if reports are true.... imagine being so full of himself.... then get traded to a perennial crappy team like the JETS. Totally different locker room feel, I’m sure.

I was speaking in general not you specifically.
Same thing with the PFF grading. A guy will discredit them only to use it to support their argument in another post.

He doesn't want to play on a one year deal with the chances of injury with his future not secured after this season.

I'll say this: The Steelers offense would be really damn good with Bell, but we absolutely don't need him to win. It played well enough to beat the Browns, Chiefs, and obviously, the Bucs.

The defense is a legit issue, and if we have an opportunity to grab a high draft pick and get a difference-maker on that side, I'm for it. I've loved Bell's game for years, and I'm happy with what he's done for the franchise, but this drama is the opposite of what a team just moments from being 0-2-1 with off-the-field turmoil needs.

Make the necessary moves, Tomlin and Colbert, and let's get back on track.

That's the point. With how bad this defense is, the only way we can beat an elite team is to just be unstoppable on offense like kc is. That will not be the case with connor. I think with leveon in terms of talent we are on par with KC the only advantage they have is te but I give us the edge in rbs(with leveon) and wrs.

You're comparing 3 games to a whole season. Complete idiocy. And leveon bell lead the nfl the last 2 seasons in yards after contact. Connor can only run through gaping holes he has no moves to break any intial contact like a leveon, saquon, Zeke, Gurley. Etc... the only people even trying to compare connor to leveon are Steelers fans because you are said mad leveon turned his nose up at 10 million guranteed you want to overhype connor to make yourself feel better for the team not giving leveon the money.

Agreed. They could throw in a third-rounder along with Bell and Davis and still not get Adams.

They need to get better value than the compensatory pick, a third rounder, or just hold on to him.

    Here's my predicted scenario:

Somehow, through hours of negotiations, Steelers agree to a trade deal with another team for a second and fourth round pick.#

Bell then refuses to go through with it because the fact it's not a first round pick is an insult to his ability, and then we all go back to square one.

I think if we are still in the hunt he comes back after the trade deadline in full effect ready to ball out. We possibly get by in a weak AFC and go to the SB. He leaves in the offseason and gets paid.

At this stage, that would probably be the only way that everyone wins out of this.
