Maybe this lights a fire under him. If so, I’m all for it. Sensabaugh has looked better than last year as well - not “starter” better, but better than where he was.

Another great draft pick by Colbert and company.

Serious question here (ie not using it to make a statement about or drafting)

What trans do consistent well (or bad) drafting for the secondary. Anyone?

Burns got beat for 2-3 TDs by the Chiefs, that's the reason. I don't think Sensabaugh is a upgrade over Burns though, if the Steelers don't pressure Fitzpatrick the defense will get lit up.

Eh you do have a point. I guess I was referring to the Steelers in general striking out on defensive draft picks. Of course coaching has been poor at developing them.

I think it should be Sutton over Sensabaugh no?

Again, and I state this with caution, but what could have been if Myles Jack were chosen instead?

Him and Ryan would have made a great duo. Two uber, athletic linebackers.

Sutton was benched in the Kansas City game. I am not 100% certain he solves as much as Coty does currently.

Agree. As of right now, Sutton is listed as the #2 RCB behind Burns. Sensabaugh is #3 LCB behind Hilton behind Haden.

We all know ILB was a glaring need, but when Tenn took the bama LBer, Darius Leonard from SC should have been in some very deep consideration. Shazier clone all the way.

I still think Sutton would do better at FS and as a backup to Hilton (which he is). Sutton needs work at outside corner.

True. Was alao a bit taken aback by that. Even had him in for a Pro Day visit. The Steelers did not bring the house though like they did with RaShaan Evans.

Regarding who we have now in Terrell Edmunds, while he has not been as exciting as T.J. Watt was, I still have not given up on him. Granted, hesitating on tackling Kareem Hunt does no defensive back any favors but I do believe that he can be a playmaker in time.

Yeah, if you fire Butler you have to fire Colbert.

Troy looked like garbage his rookie year. I remember a lot of talk about what a bust of a pick it was. People were pissed that we traded up also. It is way too early to even think about proclaiming bust about Edmunds.

As I have said, in time, Terrell has the potential to be a great assest to the team. Regarding Troy, I have only heard of the stories told. I did not get into watching the Steelers, much less the NFL, until 2008. Be that as it may, I am not even worried about Terrell at this stage as there is way too little for anyone to form a logical conclusion about who he is; premature declarations of him being a bust no less.

The question remains as to is the coordinator we have calling the plays the correct one. I wanted to believe that Butler was the guy. However, after two home meltdowns stemming from the very issues the team made a point of emphasis on in tackling and communication, I am now beginning to question whether or not Butler is the guy to make the calls on defense.

For that matter, is this a reason as to why Tomlin took over playcalling at some point last season?

He had a huge game last week. Defensive rookie of the week.

Dare I say he just might be a candidate for Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Well the only good thing about this is we know next season is Burns' last. I'd be surprised if the Steelers pick up the 5th year option on him, maybe they would resign him to vet minimum as a special teams player as no other team is taking him as a starting CB.

Maybe it will push him to want to play better? You have to WANT to tackle.
