Ok...First thanks to Roonatic for being the only one to jump in. Maybe this is more of an offseason thing that people might be inclined to discuss.

Any way. Here is part 2. I was hoping we could come to a bit of an agreement on who each teams SUPER STARS were before starting this part, but maybe I just worded things wrong.

So here is the question. If you were another teams GM. Which of your SUPERSTARS would you trade straight up for Bell knowing you would need to pay him 17 mill a season and about 120 mill total. This is not a WHAT WILL HAPPEN...not what you want to happen....just theoretically how many teams would trade one of their stars straight up for Bell.

There is no doubt in my mind that there are teams and players that would...but I am trying to see how many.....Like obviously the Rams have no need with Gurley. I think we could take off Giants, Cowboys etc...teams with an already solid RB at lhalf the price.

But would you trade a Khalil Mack for Bell? I wouldn't.
Would you trade a Joey Bosa for Bell? I wouldn't.
Would you trade Jaylen Ramsey for Bell? again...I wouldn't

So what team would trade a superstar for Bell straight up?

Sorry Hack I haven't had time to work on a list but as to part 2 that is the difficult part for me. I could come up with maybe 5 players that I'd trade Bell for today that fit what the Steelers do schematicly

    In no order
Barkley , wanted him badly would have given the Browns bell for that first pick.
    Bobby Wagner
    Patrick Peterson
    Harrison Smith
    Clowny

    Honorable mention JJ Watt

Not who the STEELERS would trade for...but who would trade for Bell straight up? Would the Giants trade Barkley? Would the Texans trade Watt for Bell?

Yes, similar to thorn I wanted to do this but didn't quite have the time - sorry Hack.

Approaching it from a slightly different angle, my list of definite non-traders because of their current RB situation:

    Cardinals
    Rams
    Saints
    Eagles
    Giants
    Cowboys
Raiders (tentatively - who knows with Gruden)
    Chiefs
    Jaguars
    Texans
    Bengals

Then I'd consider the star positions we'd look to trade for. Like - I don't think the Bucs would trade Mike Evans for Bell for several reasons, but we don't really have a need for another WR.

So those positions are probably ILB, then potentially OLB, NT and TE. Or, a younger star who's not yet reached their potential at pretty much any position barring QB.

That's as far as I've got before lunch break is over, though...

I'd also wonder if, given a team would see Bell as a somewhat risky investment, they would trade a star with a similar level of risk.

If, for example JJ Watt's injuries looked to be more regular, etc. Although I still don't think Watt would be traded given how embedded he is in the community over there.

Or if a star was plaing inconsistent and being difficult in the locker room. Can't think of any off-hand, but that kind of player.

Which superstar or superstars would I trade for A running back with 6 years worth of heavy use, 2 injuries, and 2 drug suspensions? None

I think getting an established superstar from another team for Bell is unlikely. Especially considering the $$$ he is demanding, his past issues with injuries and suspensions and now his proclivity to disrupt the locker room and drive a wedge and polarize teammates.

To me, the most likely outcome would be a project type defensive player and and a draft pick for next year. Maybe a team gives a #2 next year and a #3 in 2020 for a straight up trade. I'd say if the Steelers could get 2 early round picks over the next 2 drafts for Bell, they should take it.

Thats kind of my point. Just wanted to see what others thought. Bell will get paid next year because its just money...but for someone who thinks of himself as the best RB in the game.....Most teams would not give up one of their own for him....Money is money...but value is different. Giving up a star for a star? Well I think most teams like their star more than they like Bell.

and again..I am not saying its likely..or anything...just purely debate...if you were another teams GM all things being equal...would you trade your GUY for Bell and his mega contract

I think it comes down to a team with multiple stars in either the offense or defense that feels Bell would be the final piece of the Superbowl puzzle and could afford losing a player to gain what you think you are missing. It would be like the Seahawks after beast mode retired. They have all the pieces in place but lack that special player on offense to return to the SB. They could afford to give up a player for what they could get in return. At this time Jacksonville could give up a player on defense to get a Bell but they have Fournette and need a QB more than they need a Bell. The Texans maybe but if they give up Clowney their defense goes from being a good defense to being average. The Vikings maybe but they have Cook so maybe if he goes down.

hack, i'm not sure one would give up a star but there are teams that may give up a solid player which i think could be of help to us. maybe the jets. bilial powell? crowell? i think either could do very well behind our line. i think its a mistake to trade an offensive player that is a big part of the offense for a defensive player. so the ramseys and macks would be out for me. i'd think about teaming one of those two RB's from the jets with conner because they would be of little value at that point to the jets if bell went there.

The Jets do leap out as a possible destination for Bell, all things considered.

The days of the straight up mega trades/deals (examples below) are long gone. Finances with nominal return merchandise would rule the terms of a Bell deal these days.

Herschel Walker: In 1989, at the height of his NFL career, the Cowboys traded Walker to the Minnesota Vikings for a total of five players (linebacker Jesse Solomon, defensive back Issiac Holt, running back Darrin Nelson, linebacker David Howard, defensive end Alex Stewart) and six future draft picks. The five players were tied to potential draft picks Minnesota would give Dallas if a player was cut (which led to Emmitt Smith, Russell Maryland, Kevin Smith, and Darren Woodson). This was claimed to be a turning point in the rise of the Cowboys to the NFL's top echelon.

Ricky Williams: Williams was selected in the first round as the fifth pick of the 1999 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. Head coach Mike Ditka traded all of the Saints' remaining 1999 draft picks (the second round pick had already been traded to the Rams to get Eddie Kennison) to the Washington Redskins to get Williams, as well as first- and third-round picks the following year.[10] This was the first time one player was the only draft pick of an NFL team.

Again thata kind of my point. Sure there are teams that would give something for Bell. But i think very few would be willing to trade Star for Star for Bell. Clowney for Bell. ..I don't make that trade if Im the Texans.

Honestly Edmunds the rookie in Buffalo. If Im the Bills I don't make that trade

I think Bell is a special player....but the actual problem is again the RB position is not as valuable.

You know, that's not too crazy an idea. Seattle is hurting for a RB right now and both are disgruntled stars that seem to want to be elsewhere.

    I'd take a 2019 2nd and a 2020 2nd for Bell at this point.
