Burns to me was the biggest loser today...and thats saying something when the offense turns the ball over as much as the Steelers did.

Burns handed then 30 yards on a scoring drive that gave the Browns their first signs of life.

The turnovers ...hey they get paid to play football too.

But Burns screw up had nothing to do with talent or play...it was 100% between the ears...and you can't do that.

Or those 2 turnovers in the 4th qtr when the score was 21-7, they didn't shutdown the offense Ben was still throwing.

They went very conservative. Hell, Kaboly tweeted they were playing scared. Just seen this stuff too many times.

Maybe the weather had something to do with it, I don't blame them for being conservative they had a 14 point lead. Without those two turnovers in the 4th qtr the game would've been over.

    Winners:
    1. James connor -----192 yes of total offense with 2 td's......... le'veon who???

    2. Juju is going to have a huge season barring injury

TJ Watt ----- 4 sacks, 3 tfl, 11 total tackles, and the blocked kicked that kept an L off our record... there's gonna be fireworks this yr

    Interior o-line

    Losers:

    1. Gap integrity on defense---- got to be more disciplined when facing mobile qb's... same old same

    2. Ben ----- did everything in his power to keep the browns in it..... hopefully this is out of his system early

    3. Artie Burns ----- got to be better than this or sutton will overtake him on the depth chart

    4. Ot's----- yes AV had an incredibly difficult matchup, but that's the life of an NFL LT..
Markus Gilbert needs to tighten up big time if he's gonna shake that p.e.d. mess

Winner: TJ Watt. He looked awesome. Connor was solid most of the way also. Switzer looked good also.

Loser: Jordan Berry. He wasn’t THE reason they blew it but he was one of the reasons. Why Tomlin consistently ignores and devalues the punting game is beyond me. It hurts them every year. They haven’t had even a league-average punter since Daniel Sepulveda.

Loser Mike Tomlin for having his team not prepared as always

Ben for having some of the worst ball security I’ve ever seen

Bell for not giving a damn

Yeah, he didn’t help. Uncorking a JV pint at the wrong time again!

When he does that you get that sense of “Oh no, here we go again!”

I wanted to be fair so I just re-watched every Steelers defensive snap from today's game. Dupree did have a good game as far as no missed tackles and no blown coverage, but also no containment, no real pressure on the QB (1 sack), nonexistent in the run game. From what I've seen he really hasn't shown much growth since his second year. I might be biased because I'm not new to the 'bust bandwagon', I've been on it since 2016.

0-1-1 is pretty much inevitable. Bucs destroyed Saints in their own house. 0-2-1 is highly likely.

Good point and discipline continues to plague us...I don't know if I'm still numb but for some reason the TOs aren't bothering me as much as they usually would. To me it's the little things like our continued sub par punting , our situational awareness by both the players and the coaching and our reluctance to keep players fresh especially at the RB position. I know our guys made plenty of mistakes on their own but IMO I just don't feel our coaching is making their jobs any easier. I don't think they put them in the best position to succeed either by stressing situational awareness or strategy.

Roethlisberger needs to play much better. Sure, the rain caused some problems, but he forced things too many times. One interception was on James, but the other turnovers were mistakes by Roethlisberger.

Tomlin does get some blame. The Steelers got too conservative offensively a couple of times. They had the 14-point lead and the ball in Cleveland territory in the fourth quarter and decided to run, then punt from the 34. Either throw it or be prepared to go on fourth-and-five.

The series before the missed field goal in overtime was a mistake, too. They were moving the ball well. Playing for a field goal of over 40 yards in that situation was a mistake. As much as I trust Boswell, the field was a mess. They needed to get that closer.

Agree. It was like the 2 minute warning came in OT and everything went out of sync again.

I get that Connor was playing great but if we had to run it in the 4th, I would have had Ridley in for some of the drives. Fresh legs etc.

Add to losers list: Haden's run defense. Guy can cover but he is adding to last season and being as bad run defender a CB can be. I actually can't see why this goes unnoticed but maybe becaue he is that much off falling to ground even before the contact to RB. He loses contain 100% of time. Anybody who has played CB knows there is one thing that you can't do and that is losing contain. If you miss the tackle miss it making the RB taking a cut to inside where the support is coming. Haden does not play his lane outide but time and time again lurks inside as a free runner where we most of the time have a safety already. Second phase is his tackling, this has to be Dieon vo 2.0 - he just jumps to the gorund before the hit. Please Joe read this and work that contain school with coaches :D

My winners imo were obviously Conner, he played well and showed Bell like things. One of the things I pointed out over the last year in why we should keep Bell was how LB could sneak out of the backfield when he felt Ben was in trouble. Conner did this twice that I saw and that to me was impressive. Others who I thought played well, Bostic who I felt had a bad preseason. Watt who is just a beast, I feel like his parents should keep having kids this family is a football factory. Switzer had some really nice returns this was a nice pick up. Sutton played well, yeah he gave up a td but still played well. Davis looked good as did Burnett. The defense looked like an improvement especially with all the turn overs we had. This guys is something we have all been talking about, yeah it was the Clowns but still I am optimistic.

My players I thought did not play up to par.....Burns, WTF were you thinking???? You got sucked into a trap and then lost your cool at a very bad point of the game, sorry to say this but that was Burfict like there Artie!!!! Ben, yeah bad weather but you have to take care of the ball. You are a veteran and know you can't hold the ball that long. DHB, you are on this team for ONE reason and ONE reason only you have to make that tackle of the return. Dupree, I am starting to think Bud needs to be on offense cause he sure runs to the endzone enough. He rushes so wide and so deep most of the time he isn't even in the picture. Where was Washington why were we throwing to Hunter and Switz so early in the game so often?

Not trying to be to negative and that is why I didn't want to post last night but just my take on the game. Big week of practice this week to get ready for a better than I thought KC team......
