With him we barely are a contender. Without him we are not one at all.

I agree that Tomlin's teams tend to play down to the level of competition. But, this game is on the offense and 6 turnovers. Yeah, the weather was a factor, but if you take care of the football, we aren't having this conversation. How those turnovers are Tomlin's fault is beyond me.

    My thoughts:
    1. Too conservative when we had a 2 touchdown lead. Patriots would never do that.
    2. Conner ran timidly after the fumble.
    3. The weather was a huge factor near the end of the game.
    4. I always said Ben needs to play more during the preseason. If Brady can play in the second and third preseason game, Ben should do the same.
    5. The defense played better than I thought they would. But they always suck right after the 1st half if they take the field first.

True that! Tomlin didn't throw those ints, Ben did.

Both Ben AND Brown need to play more (or, in AB’s case, AT ALL) in the preseason. Their timing today could not have been worse.

Turnovers and missed winning field goal is not on the coach.
    Miracle we did not loose.

Ok I’m tired of being optimistic. Ravens win big, bengals beat luck in Indy, and we tie the browns. Cmon pit

So what. You’re supposed to root for your team and believe they can win.

They completely stopped playing offense in the 3rd quarter. Zero attempt to put the game away.

    Absolutely true.

But total lack of discipline does fall on him.

    1. That is Tomlin's MO. Thats why the Steelers end up in so many close games.
    2. Agreed, but I can't say I blame him.
    3. This is no excuse. The Browns had to play in it too. But I do think that weather is often a talent equalizer which always helps the lesser team.
    4. 100%. This is why it ends up taking 2-4 weeks for the offense to start clicking every year. But then, if Ben were to get hurt in pre-season, everyone would be screaming at Tomlin and asking why he was even playing.
    5. I thought the D played very well all day long. We'll see as we go forward, but the DBs looked solid. Pressure was good. But what I really liked was that they were making tackles. This is a huge change from the past.

On the plus side. 6 turnovers. It won't get worse than that (right?), and we came out of it with a tie. Sucks, but it's better than a loss

Question on the Browns fumble at goal line. If the player fumbles, then he goes out of bounds, can he be the first to touch it again?

    Any
Conner definitely ran timid....how do the coaches not see it? Why dress more than 2 RBs when clearly you have no interest in using more than one. A blind man could see Conner was timid and gassed, yet Ridley couldn't provide any relief? That's bad coaching...

Berry continues to suck and is directly affecting outcomes in games , yet we cut a punter who clearly out punted Berry. Bad evaluation.

Play calling was erratic and conservative at times. It seems to be lacking structure and timing. I would typically blame it on lack of preseason but at the same time these guys have been doing it together long enough not to actually have their performance cost us a game against Cleveland especially....Bad preparation

It’s weird that the offense cost us the game.

We barely beat Cleveland last year by 3 points with no rain and a punt block td. Bell didn’t do much that game

This game is totally on Ben. Missing open wide receivers and 4ints. Pat's Bengals ravens would have killed us

This was all on our franchise qb. Still not prepared to play against sub par teams. No Bell and Boz couldn't bail him out today.

We played in a rainstorm all game. 2 weaknesses that became a strength.

Conner played lights out (besides a fumble) and the defense played good)

The O timing will be fixed this week.

    CHILL OUT ppl!!

I'm talking about overall. Not just this game.. and browns have a lot of talent now. They didnt have Landry, ward, chubb, hyde, gordon(suspension), and Garrett was hurt. This is a diff team.
