As long as the fans continue to act like suckers, they'll be treated like suckers.

Someone can have all the talent in the world, but without training and teaching they may never realize their full potential.

I really don't know where you come up with some of this nonsense.
I have a 20 year old son in college right now and if he was on a message board posting some of the B.S you post I'd drive down there and Kick his ass. Not to mention he's supposed to be studying and working on getting his degree.

You've got an answer for everything don't you?
You Balls probably haven't even dropped yet. Have you even had a real job? Get some life experience the get back at us.

Oh yeah back on topic. Bell is a Jack Ass!

Business is business. I understand Bell's perspective considering all the money that's been thrown around. As a result, the Steelers will probably move on from Bell after this season.

And none of that excludes the fact that Bell is a self centered, me first, non professional, Jack Ass.

I think he’s being a little bit of a diva, but what other RB can catch the ball like Bell? I know there’s really good pass catching backs in the league, but not as good as Bell. He’s a stud runner and we will be hurting without him.

I’m sure Conor will be good, but not Bell. The second Bell is back in the backfield breaking off big runs or catching a 30yd TD, we’ll all be saying dang we need to give him his money. Time will tell!

Answering my own post but ok. Just saw Bell's agent on NFL Live. Steelers should just drop his ass. The agent or Bell could care less about the Steelers. That's my story and I am sticking to it. IF he waits till Game 11 to show up he gets $92.500 a week to give us 6 games where he will be avoiding contact. So sayōnara BLIPS

Then lets pay our military more as they put a hell of a lot more on the line than this POS.

The franchise tag was used to set market value, so I don't feel sorry for Bell making 12.5 million last year to be 'forced' to play in Pittsburgh. After all this union agreement is WHY he can make so much money to begin with. And we might add he agreed to this arrangement.

So we can stop with the pity party for Bell. Poor guy has to play football in pittsburgh to make 14.5 million. Cry me a freaking river.

He might just get his wish with the franchise tag rescinded. At this point, I hope it happens.

I hope they don’t rescind it and he don’t show up. Then we don’t have to pay him and he don’t get his way.
And if he does show up make his life a living Hell.

Bell will show up eventually. Probably even right before this game to collect the Benjamin's. More than three quarters of a mill per game forfeited. He'll be there at some point to collect.

If it's before the trade deadline, trade him.

No argument from me but I'd suggest that before we pay them more we first start actually taking care of them once they return from over seas. Everyone likes to pay lip service to our military but we sure don't do much for them besides that.

Something I do think Bell can be legitimately criticized for is that he said he would be here to start the year and now he is not. I think he should have been honest about his intentions. You can tell his teammates are pissed now that he is still not there. If his intention was to sit 10 games if tagged again then he should have said this prior to being tagged. Then again he certainly seems like someone who could change his mind at the drop of a hat. Anyway to answer the thread topic's question: Bell's teammates are sick of Bell. The o-line hates him right now. Lol. I hope they come out and crush people on Sunday. Turn Conner into a superstar.

At the pro level you get drafted and sign a contract. The player has a heck of a lot more to prove to the team than the team does to the player. Bell has been injured and is a two-time drug offender. He's got zero leverage and that's how it should be. His agent thinks he's a once-in-a-generation talent, well, that's absurd. Also, one soldier is worth a hundred of Bell. Bell is not underpaid, soldiers are.

Breaking off big runs? His long run was 20 yards last year...Yes he's a good pass catcher but he averaged 7 ypr...By comparison Gurley averaged 15 ypr...Bell stats are escalated by " running his wheels off"

Two things can be true at once:

    1. All this whiny nonsense about how a player should just take what he is given/be happy to be on the team/makes more than everyone you work with combined is childish and pointless and not how the world works. The man is supremely talented and is using the limited leverage he has to do what is best for him. It's hard to fault him for that.

It's funny to me that those most critical of Bell appear to be the same people that want to lecture everyone about how the "real world" works.

    But also

    2. I don't actually think he is receiving good advice. The Steelers offered him a very competitive contract and if their offense performs without him, will prove that the RB position is simply not worth what Bell is asking for. This could very well backfire and I think is the reason Bell and his agent are so vague about exactly when he is planning on showing up.

Bottom line is that the NFL structure is incredibly unreasonable towards players compared to any other major professional sport. If you are an elite talent like Bell, you utilize your leverage when you have it. This "do it for the team" mentality is old school and naive. Companies/teams/etc. have no loyalty to individuals anymore. You have to look out for #1. Sorry if that is a shock to you but it's 2018.

Not usually a hater, but Bell is trouble. He has literally lied about his present actions (hence the linemen’s comments), he’s injury prone (hence his fear of playing now), he makes terrible decisions (two suspensions), wasn’t he running around with Blount (should’ve been a red flag for us)... I’m ready to find a way to move on w/o him. Let’s go James Connor!!!

No one is saying he should just take what is given and be happy. However, he's not entitled to anything in this life. Also, he plays a TEAM sport. As soon as what's best for him starts harming the team then he's crossed the line. Honestly I can't see how anyone still supports him or can justify what is doing. Even his union rep, Foster, is complaining. And yes, pointing out how much more money he makes in one year than my entire family combined, probably in their lifetimes, is not childish. It is pointing out perspective that these entitled athletes have never seen before. It actually is more childish to whine and rant that nobody is giving you what you think you deserve instead of realizing, hey, I'm a multimillionaire, there are a lot of people less well off than I am, maybe I am acting like a selfish jerk.

I actually just stole Conner away from the Bell owner in my fantasy league who I play this week. Sucks for him, haha.
